I've been asked about our lack of tattoos before in the strip, and decided it was a good time to address it IN the strip itself. And yeah, they look cool but NO, these will not be becoming a regular feature anytime soon. lol

🧡 Hi, Grandpa. Can I just say it's #satisfying to peel veneer of stuff? I deconstructed a lap desk my grandpa built probably 50 years ago. The layers of veneer on the top and bottom of the plywood surface were peeling and splintered, so I removed the veneer. When I unscrewed the wood block to which the hinge was attached, I found he'd not only screwed the block on with 6 screws, he'd glued it as well. When I pried off the block, it left this squiggle where he applied the wood glue. . . My first thought was, the last person to see this squiggle was my grandpa as he lovingly assembled this well-thought-out utilitarian lap desk. I hate I ever let it get to such a sorry state, but I'm sanding and repurposing the lap desk portion as a drawing board. I also saved some wide sections of the veneer I was able to peel off in wide swaths (satisfying!) to use in my art.
