Quick kiddo sketch from last night. It was late so I didn't post it (lol 8:30pm is late for me now. 😵). Age 10! Someone hit a little growth spurt. From previous posts, you should know who it is, but I don't think we've ever seen him happy before. 😆 Too much trauma I suppose. 😢 I used a reference for the pose on this one. But that sketch I posted a few days ago, with the two sleeping mini-science ninjas in timeout? No. Pose. Photo. References. 👊 That was straight outta my brain, with a little help from a big mirror and me sitting on the floor cross legged. (wait, how do knees work again?!) That is where I hope to be on all my sketches soon. I'll always look up anatomy, bone structure, and references for just about any object and article of clothing you can imagine, but the ultimate goal is to be able to draw the human form in any position from any angle and at any age without needing to rely on a photo of that exact pose. Why? Because a life without challenges isn't really living, and also maybe I'm a glutton for punishment. 😃 #drawing #sketching #pencilsketch #sketchbook #gesturedrawing #figurestudy #drawingpeople #drawingkids #practice #draweveryday #artistsoninstagram #illustratorsoninstagram #artistsonpatreon #samantha_johnson_art
