drawn-to-space replied to your post: + OC + hair! Idk;;;;; (dusked-arcane)
Oops i forgot to say which OC lmao;;;;; im glad that it got you to talk about a bunch of hair headcanons though! It was super funny to read lmao
thank you for the chance to ramble about my horrible children! especially tavi. i don’t talk about her enough considering how often playing her ends with my hyena-cackling.
🖊+ OC + hair! Idk;;;;; (dusked-arcane)
HELLO YOU HAVE STUMBLED UPON A TOPIC ABOUT WHICH I HAVE FEELINGS. time to ramble about my kids and their adventures in dramatic, ill-advised hairstyle changes.
hanami’s natural hair color is brown, but started dyeing her hair pink when she was like...thirteen. both of her mothers dye their hair (maki has purple highlights, shomi’s whole head looks like an orange creamcicle) and her older brother had red streaks in his hair, so it became a family tradition! she kept dyeing it until she was in her 30s; she stripped most of the pink out right before she and the scions sailed to kugane, both because she...really didn’t want to keep up with it anymore and because she didn’t really want to draw all of the attention that looking like a walking stick of bubblegum gets you. she still does double takes when walking past mirrors because it’s so weird seeing her natural hair. she cut her hair very short, very suddenly, after the prisoner exchange in doma; she’s never actually told anyone why but the general impression people get is that she was grieving and possibly a little drunk and did something stupid. she regretted it at first, but has since discovered that short hair is much easier to take care of.
haruki’s natural hair is black, but he dyes it a truly eye-searing shade of teal; unlike his sister he has no intention of going back to black, because he enjoys looking like a peacock threw up on him. he also keeps it in solidarity with a’dewah, who has some Hair Trauma.
elysa kept her hair long until the night that ala mhigo was liberated, at which point she chopped it off up to her chin--not for any particularly dramatic reason, she just did it on a dare from one of her squadmates. her new hairstyle does show off her clan mark on her cheek that she had covered up with her bangs previously, but she doesn’t mind.
and finally, the good captain yashtavi (my starfinder character) dyes her hair a nauseating shade of magenta, and prides herself on doing a terrible job. she likes to cultivate an aura of chaos and irreverence--intentional rips in her clothing, messy day-before makeup--which also means she fries her hair when she bleaches it and doesn’t try to do anything to fix it. the most ideal reaction she can get from a person meeting her for the first time is a quiet, horrified “what the fuck.” her dedication to her disaster hair actually saved her life, once; she and her crew were staying in a spaceport right on the edge of azlanti imperial territory, and azlanti spies hacked the sleeping pods they’d been given so that they would be trapped inside and have all the air vacuumed out. but the pods were high-end, and came with personal grooming services, so tavi opted to sleep on a chair instead of letting a robot try and mess with her hair, which meant she didn’t even know about the assassination attempt until the next morning. (it wouldn’t have killed her anyway; she’s got about a dozen ways to keep herself alive in a vacuum, and even more ways to break open a sealed pod.)
I can't believe I've been gone for a day and this has become Danganronpa lmao
((I've never experienced dangan ronpa so I have no clue what this means but I hope it implies you're enjoying it somewhat :P))

Lmao that's totally fair. I hope that wasn't rude btw and that it passed well that I was making a joke;;;;;; English isn't my first language lol
ah, i didn’t catch that it was a joke, but it didn’t come off as rude, no worries!
besides, i like excuses to talk about my headcanons :”D
drawn-to-space replied to your post “Wait why is Paps hand stretched behind him? Was he using the blue...”
You sure he doesn't? Because idk how else would he make us float over his huge pile of bones that one time at the end of his battle just to show off
ah, see, i always figured that was just him lowering the pull of his magic to let you float higher, rather than him changing the direction it pulls in ^^
My headcanon’s long been that the bros’ blue magic works like gravity, and you can jump a lot higher on the moon than you can on earth. I think it’s also pretty fitting considering gravity is closely tied to astrophysics, black holes, and even time travel...
needless to say i want to tell some kind of story with this specific connection, but i haven’t quite figured out what =u=

8. How would each of them explain how they met?
hanami would tell you that she...wasn’t terribly impressed with aymeric when they met, whoops. she had already had it up to here--here being about horn-height--with alphinaud and his crystal braves, and she was just starting to get a very bad feeling about this whole enterprise, so when some upstart commander from racist dragon land comes calling asking for a favor in exchange for continued supplies vital to the survival of her countrymen who were living as refugees? she was not happy. she had a much better opinion of lucia, actually, and it was only her continued assurances that aymeric had good intentions that kept her from dismissing him outright.
like, don’t get her wrong. was he hot? yes. would she hit that? sure. did she trust him as far as she could throw him? ...she could probably throw him pretty far, considering elezen are just large assemblies of uncooked noodles shaped like dhalmels, so hells no. obviously her opinion of him turned around pretty quickly once she got to ishgard and saw the kind of bullshit aymeric was having to work around to get anything done, and by the time she went to the aery she’d pretty much decided that, yes, this one was good, and it snowballed from there.
aymeric actually saw her much earlier, although they didn’t properly meet until 2.x patch content. one of haurchefant’s dialogue lines (that i keep forgetting to screenshot) as well as one of the lodestone stories mention that aymeric wasn’t promoted to lord commander until shortly before we meet him for the first time, so in my happy little sandbox canon, he was sent with some temple knights to clean up the mess the fake inquisitor guillaime left in whitebrim and dragonhead. in between the corrupted crystal fetch quests hanami had been taking odd jobs in coerthas, since word had gotten to the adventurers’ guilds that she was on good terms with a few of the commanders stationed there, so he happened to see a very small, very pink, very grouchy adventurer stomping around in the snow and singlehandedly claiming bounties on marks that half a dozen of his best knights wouldn’t be able to take down. between that and the fact that drillemont spoke so highly of her, he was pretty smitten, and lucia teased him mercilessly.
hanami had no idea for several years, of course, because she had way better things to do than chat up random temple knights, but she was slightly mortified when she found out because that had been during the awkward stage of growing out her hair when she wore pigtails. it’s like being reminded of the horrible bowl cut you had in elementary school, but with no one to blame except your own bad style choices.
