Alright my dudes, it's time for the inky tobers again and I'm trying it in earnest, again. This time my strat is just to draw one thing, anything, a day. No rules, no prompts. Everything is penciled in first and traced with inks after, cuz I’m over trying to get good enough in this medium to freehand by only doing it 15-30 days in a year.

Day 1′s theme was easy enough, since my family and I celebrate the Moon Festival.

Been spending a lot of time with my favorite fictitious midwestern small-town public servants lately. (Tried to finish the series before it left Netflix ;_;) Ben and Chris took several tries to capture their likeness, while Leslie and of course Ron took no time flat. Such good, iconic faces.

Okay, first actual Inktober i.e. actually drew these this month. I was initially really put off by the promo art for Nezha (I’m deeply attached to the Chinese 2D animated film from 1979 which I saw as a child) but wanted to know what the hype was all about -- was not disappointed. Enjoyed the hell out of this movie. 

I feel bad that Nezha’s been getting a lot of badass action fanart but Aobing is all soft boy pics... and I went and did the same... I’m sorry Aobing you just have too much fabric okay it’s really hard to draw you dynamically in inks

Covid-quarantine day 11: had a virtual art night with the girls! I went back to my parents’ to pick up all my old art supplies I haven’t used since college, like full sized art pads, charcoal and graphite sticks. Definitely glad to be giving them a second life. Also unearthed some college era drawings! 

Did a series of speed life drawings to these awesome free videos put up by New Masters Academy. They start you out with really fast, gestural 1-minute sketches, then add more time as the video goes on so you can start to render more details. Lol see 1st figure (1 min, haven’t drawn in half a year) vs last figure (10 min). Had a lot of fun! Felt super rusty at first but felt really good doing it.
