Oh dear, what a wall o' text~
Augh, I didn't post anything today, either. I think taking an update to organize my thoughts might be helpful.
Let's see...
First off, the tumblr is really behind the actual drawings I've been making, like two months behind!! That's fine if I'm just using it for journal / archival purposes, but it does mean that anything I learn from feedback from this tumblr won't show up for quite a while. And to be honest, I think I'd like to do more than just settle for that.
I dunno how realistic or feasible making a huge batch post would be. If it's something I could pull off, I'd probably do that and put everything behind a "read more" link so it wouldn't flood up too much dashboard space.
If I can't make a big batch update post that I'm satisfied with, then I should at the very least make sure to note new things I'm trying or learning in text posts. Looking over this tumblr's archive and seeing how little of my sketchbooks' (I got a second sketchbook! I should write about buying new art supplies sometime!) stuff is reflected in it is a bit frustrating.
Now that I think about it, I think that having regular entries about what I want to work on, what I feel has been working, what I've been reading, etc., would probably be pretty useful. Keeping a list of ways to broaden my horizons would be pretty helpful, as I'm terrible at organizing that kind of thing within my own head.
Tomorrow I think I'll post about what I took away from the first chapter of Art & Fear, post some more 2-month-old scans, and I'll post about what I think I should be focusing on next in order to improve.
Tonight, I'm going to play around with that nifty 3d colors app for the 3ds. It's not exactly the same as using a bamboo tablet and illustrator, but I still think it's really nifty! It's even harder to draw a straight line or curve in that program then it is on paper, though. :/
