Drawtober 14: Hunger
It’s an ache in the chest that makes it want to scream and cry but it can’t, it can’t. If it cries then it will be seen and being seen will mean the hunger becomes something far more keen than a simple ache.
The apple is beautiful.
Its mouth waters.
It is so very quiet as it sneaks to the table and reaches for where the apple sits: perfect and redder than a mouth.
The prize is crisp and bright in its hand.
It devours.
The hunger will return. But for now, sweet juice clings to its tongue and teeth.
