Emily wasn’t even completely certain what she was doing in the bar that particular night. It had been a rough day at work and her entire body ached, several bruises beginning to form on her skin. All she wanted to do was sleep, but at the same time the last thing she wanted to do was go home. So she simply remained where she was, sitting at the most secluded table she could find and staring intently down into her drink, aware of a group of men a few tables away trying to get her attention, but actively avoiding making eye contact with any of them and simply wishing they would go away. She let out a quiet sigh, shoulders slumping slightly as she once again found herself questioning why she was even here.
