Dr. Chaos was developed by Marionette, published by FCI and released for Nintendo in 1988. The story is pretty unique for a Nintendo game. You play as Michael Chaos who is searching for his brother Dr. Chaos, who experiments with time and space portals, which end up bringing monsters into his mansion leading you to explore the house, finding portals, recover a mysterious weapon and eventually use it to destroy the great evil being inside the house. The graphics, backgrounds and music are well done and Michael controls really well. The gameplay has two modes; one mode is a regular side scrolling action/platformer the other is a first person point and click section where you search the rooms in the house for items. The action part, you go around killing the creatures and search for portals, the first person view is where you can find hidden areas and ammo for your other weapons including grenades which also hurt you regardless of where you throw them. You either love this game or hate it. It’s very cryptic and can be absolutely confusing since the game tells you nothing, not even a clue where to go. The game is about exploration but damn, how are you supposed to know that you need to hit a window and then go through it? It’s all about trail and error in this game. It’s a real shame to because with such a unique story this game could have been really memorable but instead it gets a bad wrap, good ideas bad execution. Being a horror based game there is some scary moments but nothing that you can’t handle. It reminds of Friday the 13th on NES, when Jason just appears out of nowhere and scares the shit of if you. The bloody title screen is corny but cool. This game can be frustrating but given a chance it’s not so bad. Over all I’ll rate this game 5/10 #DrChaos #MichaelChaos #Horror #Scary #HorrorGame #ScaryGame #Nintendo #NES #VideoGames #Games #Gamer #Gaming #Retro #Classic #RetroGames #ClassicGames #8Bit #Handsome_Rob_7 #Handsome_Rob_7_The_NES_Years
