Hi! I binge read your entire book on ao3 for 2 days straight and I just love your portrayal of Regulus. He's a severely under explored character in canon so there's so so much to explore and create for him that im really excited to see how he continues to evolve.
I also really love Ellis, I've always been really into oc characters and I love how you've created her to have as many flaws and strengths as anyone in real life, not necessarily relate to her as she's quite a privileged person but just to understand her actions and decisions; and yet, it's also very intriguing how she manages to catch off-guard sometimes with some of the things she says or does.
I have to admit that the tag about angst with a happy ending is making me white weary to have any attachment to anything but especially to Odette and Edward, the foreshadowed death are definitely just giving me anxiety. I understand if they need to die in the plot but just makes me a little sad as I've grown fond of them in the glimpses we've had.
The only thing making me survive is definitely the promise of a happy ending, although im sure it'll come after much trial.
Can't wait to read what comes next, im a huge fan!
Again, sorry for the delay in responding to this as I was sick. I've read it a bunch of times whenever I'm feeling down and it gave me so much motivation to keep the story going.
One of the things about the upcoming war in the story is that it is going to get darker before we get the happiness part of it. There isn't going to be a second wizarding war as there is in canon and Regulus and Ellis do successfully aid in ending the Dark Lord, but the path to get there is going to be hard.
And yes, relating to Ellis is probably impossible for a lot of people (myself included) which is why I find it so fun to try and get in her head and see myself in her shoes. I think she's a character whose fatal flaw very much is pride and we're going to come out on the otherside of that and see it unraveled a bit, so i'm excited.
So happy you're enjoying the story and thank you very much for sending over your thoughts! I loved reading them.
