Tennessee folks!
There are 2 bills coming up in both the House Education Subcommittee and Senate Education Committee: HB 1992 and SB 1951, that will give undocumented students in-state tuition (Undocumented students currently pay out of state tuition which can be up to 3 times more expensive, even if they have went to Tennessee schools their whole lives) at all TN colleges and universities if they have graduated from a TN high school and have attended a school in TN for the past 5 years, and have at least a 3.0 GPA or a 21 on the ACT exam. The vote for the House bill is tomorrow! So ya'll should call your local representatives and tell them to support HB 1992, and tell your friends to! (especially if they are teachers) SB 1951 is also coming up on Wednesday. Here is an example of what you can tell them: "I’m calling you to ask you to support HB1992. All TN graduates should receive in-state tuition and the chance to pursue their dreams, regardless of their immigration status. Please vote YES on HB 1992!"
