Hollow
When last I awoke, nothing was the same. Trees no longer swayed, turning bellicose and vain. Animals wailed at each other, flowers refused to bloom. The wind yelled profanities, water ran uphill. The earth became cruel, vomiting up her dead, along with rocks and stones that held no weight, flying across the sky as if they were birds themselves, then dropping like lead. Day became night as night disappeared, along with clouds churning into sorrowful tears. And I became hollow as if I had never been.
Where did I wander, for my clothes to bear sweet aromas ? I bury my nose in a bed of flowers and find no such divine fragrance. Sweet, sweet scent, I could almost feel it, melting on my tongue. Where did I wander, for my shoulders to feel so light my eyes so bright and my days so clear ? Light, it accepts all things within its aura. I lay on my bed, blissful, waiting for the nights to come, waiting for the time I will go back to the place that has left me in this heavenly state. As I stand alone, pensive, my heart dances with fairies and beings unnamed. I have the narrowest of rings on my fingers but I feel no struggle, no attack, my fingers bear no marks, no scars, they are truly rejuvenated. A place that would leave men in such a state must exist. And it must have something to give to me. I long for it. Perhaps I long for the memory of it. Perhaps it is my home. A place so restful that it would put sweet words in my mouth and fill my eyes with foamy visions. It is home and my life is a journey that leads home. There, I will dream in peace, never to be troubled again. Honeyed memories and appealing scents will keep me seeking it. One day, I will find my home, which cannot ever be destroyed, and upon it all strifes shall end and all the cells in my body shall live again as one.
Battles
I stood up, and looked around. This dream was eventful, not like the usual nightmares I’d get when I’m sleeping. I twirled around to see enemies running about, as I saw the others I’d usually fight with. The dogs, the bunny, the dragon, and sometimes some others decided to join and help me fight against whatever we were fighting. I quickly summoned a shield of spears as someone threw a dagger at me, as I panted, skewered whatever it was in the head, and looked around wildly to see my comrades.
The little small dog and Doggo were fighting together against this large black blob and they seemed to be getting along fine. Dogi and Dogaressa, however, seemed to be having a hard time against a fast, snake-like blob that they could not stab with their giant axes. I ran over, and tangled the snake up in my spears, and bashed its skull against the ground.
I turned around suddenly, and saw a human like black blob run at me. I ducked and punched the blob in the chest, but instead of falling, it just stood there, unmoving.
It was too hard to punch. It was so attached to the ground, that I couldn’t even lift it up if I tried. It leaned into my fist that I still had on its chest, and I slowly stumbled backwards, as the earth went slow motion as I fell to the ground like a rock.
“UNDYNE” I heard a voice yell at me.
“Hmmmm?” I said in a low voice. I slowly opened my eyes in annoyance, and when I opened them my eyes hurt so bad that it felt they were gouged out of my head (both of them, I mean. Not just the already gouged out one. That already feels like crap.) I winced and closed them again, as a raging headache entered my head once more. I slowly opened them again, despite my brains desperate attempt to shut down and go to sleep. I sat up, and blinked as the image of Alphys formed.
“Undyne, thank goodness,” Alphys hugged me, even though she seemed to be crying. I looked around, my vision still blurry, as I noticed that the room was a hospital and I was in a hospital bed.
“Why am I-” I started to say as my head thumped once more. I winced quickly in a sort of pain and looked at Alphys as she looked up at me from the side of the bed.
“I… I went upstairs to your room to… to wake you up and something… looked wrong. Y… you wouldn’t wake up and I… I was concerned… so I called the hospital and… and they didn’t know what it was… b… but… they said something was up… and…” Alphys stuttered.
“WHAT,” I said, very annoyed. I looked at her despite my head throbbing, and she jumped with my sudden outburst.
“I… it was weird that you wouldn’t wake up. Y… you’re not like that, Undyne,” Alphys said sincerely.
Don’t tell her anything I heard the voice in my head again. I shook my head, the headache still raging like fire.
“I’m fine, Alphys,” I told her in a soothed voice. She looked up at me, disbelievingly, and raised one of her eyebrows.
“I… I know you’re not, Undyne. I… um… we… studied the composition of your soul… and…”
“... and it’s darker than usual. W...which is impossible,” Alphys looked concerned as my head screamed like it was a war cry.
Don’t tell her, The voice said again, sending a shocking pain through my skull once more. I put my hand on my head, my eyes dimming slightly, as Alphys put her hand on my leg.
“Okay,” I told her.
“T… that could mean a v...various of things. I could mean that you… you…” Alphys started to say but then stopped.
“What?” I asked her.
“Y...you could have a soul that ‘buddied up’ with… with yours in your body… I mean like… someone or something could have merged your soul with another…” Alphys said, stuttering.
“Wait, what?!” I started feeling a dark hole in my chest open up in despair. Was that the voice in my head?
Yes, that is me :)
I shook my head in pain as my nerves crackled again.
“I… It’s what happened to Sans. W… we found out that w… when one of the brothers killed Gaster… his last move was to seal his soul i… inside Sans. T… that’s all Sans remembers, and Papyrus… he doesn’t remember anything,” Alphys explained. A large wave of pain hit my head again, and I looked to the ground and held my head in my hands.
“A...are you okay, Undyne?” Alphys wondered.
“I’m fine, Alphys,” I said in as cool a tone as possible. Good, good, The voice said, the pain slowly fading.
Now get the heck out of here.
“When can I leave? I have to get to the house before 10 o’clock so I can work with the kid,” I looked at Alphys, as she took her hand off of my leg.
“...You need to get some rest, Undyne,” Alphys said, concerned.
“I feel fine, Alphys.”
“S… Says the person who was just clutching her head… and wincing,” Alphys looked at me with a stern look.
“I’m fine,” I looked back at her.
“...” Alphys paused. “Stop lying. I… I know you’re lying. A… And you should care about y… your well being.”
“... I’m not lying Alphys. I’m fine,” I insisted to Alphys.
“I… I know you're lying b… because you facial f...fins always twitch when you lie,” Alphys looked up at me seriously, as I raised my eyebrow at her.
“Really?” I asked her.
“Everytime,” she looked annoyed.
Get out of there. Now. It said in a more annoyed fashion.
“I have to go back, Alphys. I will not take a day off,” I stood up from out of my hospital bed, and exited the room.
“Undyne!” Alphys ran, almost tripping on her very long science jacket. She grabbed my hand, and I turned around halfway down the hallway and looked at her.
“Alphys, I have to go,” I protested.
“U… undyne, just let the…”
“I’m fine, Alphys,” I looked at Alphys, making sure that my facial fins didn’t twitch. I let go from her and walked away.
Good job, The voice said.
I hate you. I replied.
Well you’ll have to live with it :D
That Time I Saved A Bunch Of Unconcerned People From Certain Death
Alright Ive had this dream a couple times now, so felt it was worth mentioning on here
So basically, the premise of the dream is, Im at this mall someone built into a dormant volcano, getting a cool tour of the place and the basement and told the legend of the goddess with the silver sword who once resided here, don’t remember the legend, but anyway I start having a premonition that this whole place is gonna blow and sure as shit, the automated detection system goes off and it says we got 3 minutes to evacuate this whole mall full of people.
People start to scream and panic, but I basically get my ass into gear and start running around making teams of available people to run literally everywhere in the mall, check every room, spread the news about the volcano about to erupt and check for people, children, and help them get out. Whats weird though is because Ive had this dream a couple times now, I can say for certain that I always gather up the same people and we check the same rooms and i could maybe could make a map of the place if I remember it better, the lady who ends up becoming my second in command during this whole situation is a black lady with really short buzzcut hair in nurse scrubs who helps me direct the teams and keeps an eye on the timer.
Anyway I say i the title unconcerned people because they have system set up for this, the tmer and the heat detection and the other stuff was shown in the basement, but only I noticed that something wasnt working right earlier, the lava is coming much quicker that anyone expects, its only when it floods the detection place in the basement and the timer goes out of whack that people even started taking me seriously.
anyway cool black nurse lady also helps me in the second part of the dream, which is me trying to find the silver sword at the last minute, because I hear a voice and promise it to save the sword. I ask the nurse about the legend again and while she seems confused and frustrated because we have a real problem over here, once everyone is aware if the danger and is heading out to safety, I use the last 30 seconds to find the hidden chamber that exists below some bar frat club type place, the opening is a golf club flagpole hole thing that I somehow fit through, and sure enough, heres the shrine of the lava goddess with the shining curved scimitar looking silver sword that melts like mercury at the slightest warmth
and the dream ends with me basically grabbing the sword and holding it aloft on the cliffs edge to the sky as the empty mall-cano erupts behind me, it was pretty sweet, felt like something out of a modern day legend of zelda dungeon.
Dream 9!
