Morning Quickie - Welcome To Wal-Mart, Now Wake The Fuck Up
Greetings. I realize I haven’t posted any lucid dream content for quite a while now. The reason behind this is, well, there hasn’t been any. I’ve not had a single lucid dream for months now, and I haven’t experienced any significant dreams worth jotting down for about the same. I attribute this dry spell to depression, stress (work-related, familial), and a fucked up sleep schedule.
When I have times like these, I generally put myself through a small detox, wherein I go a few nights in a row without my sleeping medication, so that it will be more effective when I take it next. These are not good nights - I sometimes go through two or three days without sleep until exhaustion claims me. I am doing so currently, but I managed to snag about thirty minutes this morning, and during this brief half hour, something interesting happened...
***
I find myself at the local Wal-Mart, in the back help desk area. I'm waiting in front of the bathroom for... something, I'm not sure what. A young girl of about ten, and her younger sister of about six or so, walk past me into the men's room. I wait patiently outside, and after a bit they finish up and exit. I stop the younger one before they go too far and say "Go back in there and wash your hands." It seems they're perfectly fine with strangers telling them what to do, because they just smile and go back inside. While they do so, I look back and see that a line has formed behind me, so I decide to walk off and do something else. Apparently I didn't even need to go...
As I'm wandering the isles, I realize that I don't have my laptop with me. This sends up red flag, because I knew I'd have brought my laptop with me today. Wait, why am I even at Wal-Mart? I already did my shopping. And why don't I remember getting here...
Aw crap.
I wake up, already standing up next to my bed, and I can immediately tell something is off. My room is pitch black, but I can see everything clearly. My desk is... wrong, almost non-euclidean in it's dimensions. Also my alarm clock is about twice as big as it should be, and the LED is showing random numbers in no particular formation.
On a hunch, I put my hand between me and the clock, blocking it from sight. When I raise my hand, the numbers have changed; some are smaller or bigger, and in different spots on the clock face. I swipe my hand over it again, and it changes once more. Yeah, I'm still asleep.
"Okay, time to wake up. I have shit to do," I say out loud, and I start waving my hand up and down my field of vision, erratically changing the numbers each time it I can see it. My thinking is that I'll overload my subconscious to the point of ludicrousness, and I'll wake up. I guess it worked, because It doesn't take very long for everything around me to start melting and blurring, and the next thing I know, I'm pulling my head off my pillow and glaring at the (now properly proportioned) clock on my desk.

Morning Quickie: I'M GOING GHOST!
So I had a wonderful dream last night... At least, I'm pretty sure it was wonderful, because I can't remember most of it. By the time I was able to boot up my computer, decay had already started in, and within a few minutes I forgot most of the salient points.
I have a vague recollection of being with my siblings, all of us in a large, creepy house that I've never seen before, dreamside or this. We were bedding down for the night, and Bill Nye was in a cylindrical, silver sleep chamber next to my bed. I don't know why - my dream cameos make no goddamned sense.
Anyway, we all went to sleep with the lights still on, and I either died or had an out of body experience, because next thing I know, I'm looking down at my own still form and looking through my now semi-transparent hands. I float around the room for a bit, check on my sibs to make sure its just me, then I zip into the closet, passing through the door and back wall without a hitch or sound.
After I go through the back wall, I come to a pair of old wooden doors that are just kind of free-floating in nothingness. They slide open to reveal... something. I don't remember what it was, exactly, but when I think about it I get a vague notion of black cherry red n' black horizontal stripes, and femininity. That's it.
Then I awoke, and feeling pretty danged good, to be honest, so whatever the striped girly thing behind those doors must have been pretty flippin' sweet. I'll be damned if I can remember, though.
