#dream difficulties

I also dreamed that I found this manga in my apartment which I'd checked out of the library in like 2023. (It's October of 2024 at the time of this writing.) I was worried about the overdue fees.

The subject of the manga was a teenage girl who fought monsters. The unspecified author had the explicit goal of making a story that would appeal to a Western audience. The dream did not specify anything else about the story.

While I was hemming and hawing over how I should approach the library, I spent some time hanging out with a few guys who were part of the manga's cast. At one point, I tried to do that thing I've been doing a lot in my dreams where I close my eyes, concentrate, and teleport home, but this didn't work for some reason for reasons which dreaming-me couldn't figure out. Dreaming-me also tried to figure out how it was possible in real life -- like, was I just sort of blacking out, going home the normal way, and then waking up? Also at some point I realized I was barefoot, and had equally-inexplicable difficulty putting my shoes on.

Last night I dreamed that I was either the "Mini-Sentry-chan" Team Fortress 2 fan character, or I was just playing as her in GMod, the dream couldn't decide. This took place in like some house in rural New England or whatever.

I used a generic box in GMod to try to measure the height of Mimi Sentry-chan's eye-height for the purpose of accurately ... placing where her guns fire from, or something? Like basically I was setting an insubstantial translucent box superimposed over her, changing how tall it was to 175 units (I do remember the number "175" specifically), to try to figure out the exact height to set it to so that it lined up with her eyes/eye-gun. I couldn't find an exact number, because this was happening in a dream so of course it wouldn't necessarily come up with an accurate answer.

I do know I won a few fights as her, doing wacky anime-acrobatics and stuff whilst shooting things.

... Look, I'm so starved for robot girl content, I'm willing to look up memes about fan-characters who are moe anthropomorphizations of TF2 weapons, okay

A few nights ago, I dreamed that I was trying to get hamburgers at a college cafeteria (I graduated in 2009), but they'd run out of actual meals and there were only side dishes remaining, or something. I headed out to this weird bookstore or library or curio shop, the dream wasn't entirely clear, where they supposedly still had burgers. I found a copy of Sonic 2006, which came in two volumes: one which had the End of the World, and one which had ... something else, it wasn't clear, for some reason in retrospect I don't feel like it was just the rest of the game. Also each volume was in this white oddly-shaped box. In the dream, I wondered if it was supposed to be a PC version -- y'know, of the original Sonic 2006, as produced by Sega -- and even in the dream I thought that was weird.

Last night I dreamed that I was driving to "(my mom's given name) Springs" to do a roleplay thing in real life (so, a LARP, I guess?). I was going to use the superpowers dreaming-me had, and this was supposedly going to work out fine. I went to use the bathroom, but I had trouble doing so (because I was asleep). My mom and sister were in the area for unrelated reasons. I changed my name to some Christian-sounding gibberish like "Saint Mary Our Savior", then wondered in the dream whether the Virgin Mary was an actual saint or not. I then suddenly realized that I hadn't paid to use the hotel I'd parked my car at, then got confused because I already had the key to my room. I then figured, if my car was gonna get towed, I probably had enough money to just "eat" the fine if I had to pay one.

A few nights ago, I dreamed that I had gotten a friend of mine into PSO2. He got KO'd at one spot, and I had to hurriedly log in so that I could revive him (the dream evidently having forgotten that you could do anything on your own initiative like using a Half Scape Doll or warping back to the gateship). I had an inexplicable amount of difficulty logging in in a timely fashion; I eventually tried to login through the friend's laptop via my own laptop (somehow), and he pointed out this sheet of paper taped to ... something, it's not clear now, which had his wifi information. Said wifi information was somehow connected or relevant to a friend of ours who had died recently.

Several nights ago I dreamed that I was rail-grinding in like Second Life. Setting aside the fact that Second Life's physics is wholly unsuited to doing such a thing, I kept having to like manually keep my balance so I didn't fall off. I kept trying to do the Sonic Adventure 2/Sonic 2006 "jumping" thing where you shift your position, but this made my balancing worse, not better.

A few nights ago I dreamed that someone unspecified told me this thing I'd been looking forward to was happening. It was a bunch of trailers/previews for Sonic the Hedgehog stuff, it wasn't clear where or how it was being presented. There was a live-action thing with a bunch of different alternate Sonics, and this one scrunkly girl who was like. Really cynical.

Also I had to go to the bathroom, but I couldn't close the bathroom stall all the way for some reason until I just sort of collapsed the whole thing onto me.

Last night I dreamed that "in Minecraft", if you were right next to the ocean, there were these huge tidal waves that appeared in stormy weather. (The scenery was a "realistic" style with normal-sized beaches and stuff.) I kept trying to ask someone for like console commands to change the waves' parameters, but I wasn't getting an answer for some reason.
