A new recurring location has been cropping up in my dreams lately: the slots. The slots are kind of funny looking slot machines, shaped like like interactive TVs, always in some nook of either the Shopping Mall location or the Casino location. They can be played with for as little as a quarter, which means that if my dream self finds some coins lying around, i can go play a few rounds of the slots for fun.
The location often shows up, but it's very rare that I actually get to play the machine. Not even sure what the game looks like itself in the dream, because it's so rare that I actually make it that far. This time, something else happened once I got the location. It seems that all the players there were in some kind of trance, and I was able to break them out by commanding them to look at me, and holding up my palm in front of their faces. They'd look at my palm for a few seconds, kind of shudder, and then wake up. I also did this with images. Even people and characters in pictures seem to be in some kind of trance, although I did not distinguish between the living and to the pictures when I was breaking the whole crowd out. Remember I also taught the skill to somebody else who was there with me, and we were able to break the crowd out together. Unfortunately, I didn't get much thanks for it, but it was still a positive thing to be able to do it.
This is the first time the trance thing has shown up, but the location has shown up three times that I can count, and likely a lot more times that I don't remember. It is an activity that I seem to enjoy in the dreams, despite my always being a little wary of it, as well, as I am aware that gambling can be addictive and dangerous. It is only now that I am awake that this seems silly, as the cost of playing the game is only pocket change.
