One Century Later... || dreamcatcher-in-gold
Jack had had a dream the previous day. It was very rare for vampires to dream, so it stuck out in his mind. This particular one had reminded him of a previous escapade involving a woman he had turned.
This, in contrast, was not so rare. There had been times where Jack had turned women he’d bedded, but they never lived very long, and in some cases he killed them himself. The responsibility was too much for him.
This dream had been of one who had survived. Well, he assumed. He’d run off the night after turning her. The possibility of being with just one person for forever, quite literally, frightened him. It was different from what he’d always known, and he didn’t think himself strong enough to make that sort of commitment.
So that night, just past a hundred years since he’d left the woman, he caught sight of her down the street. A swish of blonde hair and that distinguished stride was enough for easy recognition.
He probably would have gone unnoticed if he hadn’t said “Oh,shit!” so loudly.
