So what have I been up to lately?
A few of you have been wondering why I’ve been taking so long to add Ash to my DbD icon pack, well here’s the reason.
I was invited to work as the artist on a Dreamhack Jam Dallas 2019 project, Dreadful Dreamland, a two player game where you play as either the Dreaming Girl, or the Monster Under The Bed, where you either attempt to outrun/catch the other player using items and skills for 5 minutes.
It was a whole lot of work, in not a lot of time, and I worked my ass off to get everything done in only the few days I had available to work. (a little less than 3)
Unfortunately, not all of the assets I made were able to be used in the final build, and those that were used, weren’t used quite to the best of their abilities.
Some of the animations weren’t timed properly, and most of the hedge maze tiles weren’t stung together properly due to time constraints, as well as some of the items I made just not being included at all.
But that’s just the way it is with these sorts of projects.
Because of that I’ve decided to upload my work here (plus a mock screen), where you can see it how it was intended to be seen.
(Please ignore the weird artifacting on the backrun cycle for the girl and monster, I’ve re-render them like 6 times and I have no idea why they keep exporting like that, they’re the only 2 gifs that keeps doing it)
All in all, this was a whole lot of fun, and really rewarding to see my work come to life.
If you want to check the game out for yourself, take a peak over here.
