had a dream about a blue prince spinoff where the Draftable Building is a place of worship for some non-Angel-based mystery religion

the main issue is that while the head priest was away for the summer, they'd hired a House Manager (i.e. "guy whose job it is to draft the floorplan whenever it resets") who fibbed on his resume and isn't actually an initiate, and has been unknowingly drafting it "wrong"/sacrilegiously, thereby offending the building (or the god?) and provoking it to do horror movie shit

and the main puzzle is to figure out enough of the religion's concepts (which nobody will tell you openly because it's a mystery religion and you're not an initiate either) to understand what he's doing wrong and fix the floorplan before someone dies about it

In tonight's dream I was listening to Eliezer Yudkowsky describe a project he worked on about ten years ago, when he was convinced that pervasive formally verified statistics software was key to raising the sanity waterline in America. He subtly reached out in an email to programmers working "in Seattle" to see if he could interest them.

At this point in the conversation he opened up Google Maps and turned on the Terrain layer to show that there is a giant mountain that covers Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado, and that Seattle is located on the west slope of the mountain. That makes those programmers ideal because they are "politically unaligned" (neither Democrat nor Republican), "geographically unaligned" (neither on the east coast nor the west coast) and "alignment unaligned" (because the mountain slope is at an angle to the rest of the U.S.). As he sent the email he had to tilt the laptop to match the mountain, to make sure the communication would go through.

had a dream that the post office offered me a promotion to a desk job that would've made me $16/hr more than my current rate, but also would've been almost entirely comprised of everything that made me borderline suicidal at previous jobs (tons of customer service/retail sales/problem solving for people over the phone, endless emails and repetitive form filing, stuck in an isolated cinderblock of an office, constant pressure to meet performance metrics) and my managers were trying sooooo hard to talk me into it like ooh charlie you're wasted as a carrier you have just the right skills for this you're so smart and great with people and you'll be making really good money— and i tentatively agreed, but as the dream went on & my last day before switching to the new job got closer i was just filled to the brim with nauseating dread until i finally turned down the offer.

I had a dream about a galactik football reboot where they could turn into animals and yet the part I remember I was most mad about was that they made Micro-ice 2 inches taller

Djok deer, Micro-ice dog, Sinedd wolf?, Ahito moth (even though thats an insect but whatever)... there was some random new emo character there too who could also turn into a deer. But like. An emo deer. I don't know 😭

Random worldbuilding detail from a dream: Terra Ignota but with the imago technology from the Teixcalaan series.

The Masonic Empire prides itself in an unbroken line, each emperor taking in the full memories of all his predecessors, but War breaks this when MASON gets killed accidentally in Alexandria. Someone shoves the imago into a backup clone, but the Emperor's caretakers screw up: the clone learns of MASON's death, and the imago line loses faith in itself, and the imago itself "dies".

The clone mentally snaps. A new clone is prepped and it's hoped that the trauma of transfer has prevented the imago from forming the memory, but it's clear that Something is Wrong and the new clone only lasts until it can be evacuated from Alexandria. Away from Alexandria, where the clone pools are, where the clones are inaccessible due to War.

A random Familiaris takes up (is forced to take up) the imperial imago, then, very carefully avoiding all inconvenient questions, and this lets the evac team get to safety, but as they stand in the cell with Jed! and Mycroft and all the rest, where everyone is trying to authenticate that this new body truly is the Emperor, someone (a Brillist plant?) asks the wrong question, and the imago "dies" again, quietly but extremely convincingly.

Then the Emperor paused, and reached their hand to the back of their neck, and caught the imago-stone as it fell from the socket. And the Emperor resumed speaking, in a room silent as a tomb.

dreamed i followed a cat into a witch's house and i told the cat i needed a way to gather negative energy so i could collect and transform it into other things - but i didnt actually want that. it showed me to an amulet. and then someone else walked in so i said "go help them. i'll wait" but then i woke up as i was watching some crystals hung on strings move in the late afternoon sun

i just noticed i have never seen my reflection or my shadow in a dream and aside from the ones where i become water moving thru pipes... theyre always cleanly "from my perspective" though? but that cat was definitely the witch transformed
