Yesterday I watched dumbjake's video "toys based on a movie about toys" where he talks about the Small Soldiers toyline. In the video he points out how the toys have fake articulation lines and hinges molded into them.

This led to me having a dream that Tumblr got into a discourse over this. Some said the fake articulation was a good aesthetic choice while others called it false advertising.

People also became obsessed with the term "overly articulated" and argued action figures should have less articulation. They said things like "I want action figures with worse articulation and I'm not even joking." or complaining when action figures had articulated toes.

I love Death Note because you can see how Kira and Light are both two sides of the same coin, because obviously Light was a lot more different before he picked up the notebook and when he lost his memories, but he still held his same ideals. Meanwhile Kira was just a downward spiral of power that clouded his own morally pure judgements. Like, he was a good kid, but he became so unrecognizable because of his own newfound power. But at the same time, that’s still Light at his core. Even if Kira and Light are different, they’re still both so painfully the same person. I think that it’s just so interesting to think about and so difficult to really properly explain or put into words if I’m being honest. Because Light is Kira, but Kira isn’t really Light, or who Light used to be at least.
