Watched a good film (At Eternity’s Gate (2018)), cried, and opened up some new watercolor paints I’m eager to try. Might do just that.
In all seriousness, I think Vincent van Gogh has to be one of my personal favorite painters aside from Goya, Monet, Bacon, and others. His grasp on color and his personal connection with art feels so familiar.
I don’t mean to project on him but I have been dealing with so much mental health downfalls that seeing someone also struggle while being an artist just feels like home.

Some Kaidan Headcanons ♡
Because I can and I’m feeling very blue, I’m going to be discussing some headcanons about Kaidan. I conjured these from my ME 1 playthrough and my current ME 2 one. Some will be emotional.
⚠️ ME 1 and ME 2 spoilers ⚠️
(Pls keep in mind on some I’ll be projecting I’m also a Kaidan kinnie, but if I’m out of character ((Nah I’m not…)) just scroll on, thank you for understanding.)
Okay, let’s begin:
• He had a hard time blaming himself for what happened not just on Gargarian station/BaAT but also with Horizion. He had to process alot of survivors guilt. He’s still not over Shepard, he’s actually currently in the first stage of grief after Horizon which is denial.
• Shepard was the first “true” love that he has ever felt. He would get crushes then and again but he never opened up completely with someone like he did with Shepard. It just clicked for him to be himself.
• He has a decent relationship with his father but only on surface level. His dad doesn’t exactly know what happened at BAaT, just the basic stuff.
Pretty much surface level knowledge. Shepard is the one who really knows what he went through to the best of their ability.
• Kaidan has trouble sleeping and he relives the events not just on Horizion but also in the Battle of the Citidel with Shepard. He takes sleeping medication to help quiet out the noise. If he misses a dose, he’ll never be able to sleep.
• When he’s upset he’ll isolate himself for a while due to the already overbearing symptoms he gets with his L2s. Stress causes him to get intense migraine flare ups if left uncontrolled.
• He has battled heavily with internalized and external ableism from himself and others when he was young. Now he advocates strongly for his needs. He knows it’s important to not shrink himself for others and put his needs firs. This however took awhile.
• He believes in true love/love at first sight/soul mates etc. he’s a huge ball of cheese.
• He’ll practice some flirts in the mirror when he gets a chance since he doesn’t want to mess up. Sometimes it just comes out so natural and after the delivery he’ll BLUSH so hard.
• His demeanor changed when he lost Shepard after the events in ME 1. He hid it well though, a little too well. Behind closed doors he would voice his emotions in journal logs that eventually ended in tears.
• He’ll always find a way to get a gift for anyone he cares about. Whether it be on an errand run on shore leave, he’ll be bringing back something.
• Poetry is his second love language. He dabbles in it from time to time but when he started to crush on Shepard it was RAMPANT in his personal logs.
• He’ll never forgive Cerberus obviously for the horrendous atrocities they have done, but for also costing him his peace.

People used to comment on fanfiction.
People used to comment on fanart.
People used to comment on OCs.
I hate "content" culture.
I hate "consuming content" and scrolling immediately to the next thing.
People used to be excited about the art that other people created.
People used to want to share that excitement with creators.
I hate this future.
Once someone tagged art that I made with "woah" and I think about it at least once a week. Someone else said "oh neat" once. Someone else WROTE A WHOLE DAMN POEM IN THE COMMENTS. Anyways even just one word can change how someone sees their art. You don't even have to think about it too hard. You could put a keyboard smash and I'd probably cry from joy.
I'm also trying hard to interact more, I understand that it's hard to break away from opening your phone and being in Content Consumption Mode.
I honestly hadn't stopped to think about this until I saw this post... I used to think people would get annoyed if they were notified everytime someone posted a comment on their art. I never thought about it being like fanfiction and that they might appreciate comments. Frick, that means I'm part of the problem on here. Thats gotta change.
Every tag, every comment, every reblog with some kind of reaction/opinion or even just one word. All of these things are precious to creators!
I spent countless hours reading and rereading tags full of love people left under my art. All the people i could gift a laugh to or even inspire with something I made mean more to me then you could ever know.
It's what makes me proud of my art!
And to think that you could have enjoyed my art in silence and I would have never known.
