So..
*swipes off the dust on this blog like I’ve pulled it from the attic* Ah ...
Okay, so, uh .. how should I begin. Fake Q&A? Fake Q&A
Q: Where have you been?
I think I mentioned several times that I used to RP, mainly because I said that I cannot divide my time between writing a fanfic or RPing. Many people do, but sadly I’m just not one of those people who can divide my time well. Is that just an excuse for poor time management skills? Yes, probably.
But yes, I have gotten into a different fandom mainly through RPing, though I wouldn’t say I was necessarily into the fandom side of the .. well .. fandom. You guys followed me either for Warframe (god, that’s a while ago) or XCOM, and barely just put up with me going all MHW-crazy, so throwing anime into the mix isn’t something I’m sure y’all wanted on your dashes. So I drifted further and further away from this blog until just logging out entirely for.. several months.
If you guys really don’t mind me using this blog with multiple different fandoms, probably likely shitposting, making content etc for those fandoms, I might use this blog again. Maybe.
Q: Are you alright / well / healthy?
Yes. Just very tired as I’m searching for a job, trying to volunteer to pretty up my CV and other things. Oh, I graduated university too, so.. got that squared away
Q: Are you still into XCOM?
Not really. Well sorta. Some of the characters (like Lily) will always have a special place in my heart, both canon and OCs that I’ve made for Chosen (the story.) I would probably still write about it or think about it on occasion but I’m not so rabidly obsessed as I once was with it. My fixations change sadly a lot easier than my excitement conveys.
This isn’t to say I dislike XCOM -- honestly, I still love it and check Jake Solomon’s twitter from time to time. I keep an eye on it but I’m mostly thrown into other fandoms and ventures. On request I probably could still write about it, but it’s definitely more to do with the characters that I love so much than necessarily XCOM itself.
So I guess just consider it an “on-request” sort of thing.
Q: What about Chosen (the fanfic)? Will you ever complete it?
Honestly, the story has only about 4-5 chapters until completion, and I still know exactly how I want it to end. It’s very close to being finished and because of how close it is, I might (no promises) revisit it if I ever get a lull in roleplaying. That’s more likely to happen now than ever as the anime I was into has concluded (for that part, anyway) and the likelihood of new content for it is going to be inaccessible for me (merch, Japan exclusive events, etc)
Push comes to shove, if I can’t see myself writing the conclusion of the story, I’ll write up a post like this one detailing and outlining what would have happened, so at least some closure could be had.
Q: Will you use this blog again?
Like I said, that’s pretty dependent on my followers. This is very much started as a social platform to interact with people who read Chosen or was into the XCOM fandom, and talk specifically about XCOM (with me tangentially reblogging quotes or aesthetics I thought might fit the character) so it’s less of a “my (personal) blog” and more of an “author’s blog.”
So naturally, if I start reblogging or commenting on things that have nothing to do with XCOM, I could lose people that I interacted with pretty regularly. Interests clash and so forth. I might revive the blog regardless and just start “new” as a fandom blog than just an XCOM / author one but keep the posts since most things are tagged (though if they even still work or not, who knows.)
We’ll see. Sorry for going radio silence on you, Commanders.
