Last day of #Dressember2017! 👉👉👉 For #ootd #ootn details 😜 HAPPY #NYE, LOVES!!! I'm not wearing this out tonight, but I felt like putting on a #sparklydress (of course) earlier. Who remembers this dress?? 😂😂😂 Taking this sparkly cutout number from dance parties to #nyedress, I wanted to give it a #JackySoStyle update: Boho vibe spirit, sparkly for fun, and accessories with stories. Every piece of clothing and accessories I own has its own story. . . . Stepping--nah. DANCING into the New Year means taking all of these past stories with me, and taking control of where I want my life to go. Not all of us had a smooth 2017, or even 2016. Some of us had a great year, some of us couldn't wait for it to be over. Personally, I had an interesting year full of ups and downs, but more ups than downs. I've reconnected with friends, made beautiful new ones, and worked hard to prioritize my own needs. If your year wasn't easy, that's a good thing, because it means growth! . . . This was a huge growth year. . . . And we should all be striving to keep growing, keep glowing! . . . If a year is easy, it means it's not hard enough. It's living in a bubble. It's not challenging enough. . . . Some people want that, but I never did. I want to grow, because that's the only way I know how. I want to absorb all of the lessons and memories I can, and I want to make my life on this Earth meaningful. I don't want to take time for granted. . . . So stepping into the new year, my theme is picking a lane and doubling down. . . . I've had some of the most amazing experiences that have allowed me to incubate my diverse skills, and now I'm ready to move forward and represent fellow POC Women in STEM, because our time is NOW. 🙌🙌 . . . At the request of @michaelsichmeller: #STORMTROOPER #Dressember2017 #Day30! I told a couple ppl who came out onto the roof during this, "Today's theme is Stormtrooper!!" 😂😂😂😜 For the almost last day of #Dressember (Ryan is happy about that), Stylish Stormtrooper was gonna be either for today or tomorrow. It's a nice ~60° earlier, so let's go ahead and do it today, because tomorrow will be whatever I'm gonna throw on for @kamrinklauschie's NYE Housewarming! 😜😘✌️❤️🎉✨ . . . This onesie is actually a little boy's Halloween costume that I saw at Goodwill in the Westwood/Santa Monica area yeaaaaars ago. I was walking around with @lavieenprose, saw it on a rack through the window, and told her that I had to get it ASAP. Dashed in there like a mad woman to grab it. 😂😂😂 . . . Years later, and this onesie is still going strong! If it wasn't a #StarWarscostume, you could see how mod and editorial a black jumper or pantsuit with white geometric plating could be! It kinda feels like a #JackySoStyle version of a Power Suit, in its own quirky way. 😂😂😂 . . . If today was windy, I would have worn a long chiffon dress on top, so that it would blow in the wind. What I decided to do is this structured floral mini, unzipped so that it sits like an outer coat. The floral is a nice contrast to the stark Stormtrooper, and since everything else is structured, I'm just gonna let my hair fly free. 😂 . . . So thanks to Michael and @davidwhitcomb for wanting to see the Stormtrooper Dressember!! It was a lot of fun wearing this and playing with it! Hehe ❤️✨ . . . P.S. Thanks to my real-life Instagram Husband @astronomer_ryan, who got his PhD conferred today but might find a career in #ootd photography. 😂😂😂😜✌️ #Dressember2017 #Day29 The lace dress is a one-sleeve (super) mini, so I put on leggings + an emerald #taffeta skirt *WITH POCKETS* on top! . . . We asked our Google Home what the temperature is in Minneapolis today, and it reported back 1°. 😱😱😱 Ryan and I went out to the community roof terrace for these photos, and Ryan was basking in how awesome it was that he could feel warm enough outside during this season in just a t-shirt. 😂 . . . Of course, even though I was fine without a jacket, I still like wearing something to finish the look. I also wanted a pop of color, so this yellow open jacket is a nice option. I thought this was a fun #holidayoutfit that would be editorial and very #JackySoStyle...not that we're going anywhere tonight, though. 😜 I'm actually in a fleece zip up chilling on the couch watching Bowl Games with Ryan right now. Actually, Ryan is currently making pizza (from scratch)! So yeah...this wonderful, talented man got his PhD conferred today to take #ootdstyle #Dressember pics of me and make us pizza for dinner! #luckylady 🙏🎉🙌🙌✨ . . . P.S. I love these shoes!!! Mama got them for me for my 21st Birthday all those years ago. Brought them back with me from when we visited home for Christmas. They're #MaxStudio and soooo comfy! Dressember 28&29! Almost through! As December comes to an end, i think it's important to remember the reason behind the dress. #itsbiggerthanadress I may be super tired of wearing this dress and super ready to wear pants again (like when watching Fuller House and being really into DJ's pants Baha). While Dressember is over now, the real work starts over at @ijm and @a21 to make real change for people all over the world who are trapped in slavery.
