Wicked Wednesday
Here's a little sneaky peek at the new Drew McIntyre one shot - Enjoy!
“Have dinner with me.” Drew's voice was soft as he looked into her eyes. Looking at her photo was nothing like looking at the real thing. She was still beautiful enough to take his breath away. Even with the flush of anger on her cheeks she was enchanting.
Alyssa gasped in outrage. Surely the man was addled if he thought she would have dinner with him. She was more likely to sink her fork into him than into a tasty morsel.
“Thank you but no thanks. There's nothing you can say to change my mind.” Alyssa said as she took a step back. The door began to close.
Drew saw his opportunity slipping away. Stepping forward, he put his body in the door's path. His broad palm held the door open. Bending down to be eye level with her, he looked her in the eyes. Once again he was struck with longing. Not a single night had passed that he didn't dream of her. She haunted his dreams, tormenting him endlessly. He couldn't remember the last time he hadn't woken up in a cold sweat, the memory of her kiss burning his lips.
“Just this once?” Drew hated the pleading tone in his voice. He didn't want to have to beg but he would if she made him. He would fall to his knees and plead until he had run out of words. He would do whatever it took to get her to say yes.
Shaking her head, Alyssa tried to shove the door closed.
Panic flared in Drew. He couldn't let the door close. If it did, it was the final nail in the coffin. Their relationship really would be over. He'd lose the only woman he had ever truly loved.
“Alyssa, please?”
The pressure against the door fell away as Alyssa's hand dropped to her side. Her silvery eyes narrowed , “What did you say?”
“I said please. Will you please have dinner with me?”
There was something in his voice that made her hesitate. There was a note of uncertainty. She'd never heard him sound so desperate before. And he'd said please. In the three years she'd known him, she'd heard him say more than he should have. But not once had she heard him say please. She had learned the hard way that the word was not part of his vocabulary.
