DREWSTYNA (Drew x Chrystyna) - Character Relationships - (4/?)
Relationship timeline: S1 - S2 (breakup early season 2). A brief casual relationship post-S3 before parting once again.
(continued under the cut with more doodles and extras)
Chrystyna and Drew were introduced on the day everything started. Fitting, considering these two were the first teadocs couple to ever be conceptualized all the way back in early 2020. Placed on the same team, the two had a fair amount of time to get to know each other. Drew was intrigued by Chrystyna’s chaotic drama-causing personality, and she was drawn to his pretentious hipster personality (not that she would EVER admit it).
When Chrystyna complains about how irritating it is to be stuck on her uncle’s boring summer camp show, Drew is the one to talk to her about the positives, igniting a new drive in her to compete and win. She then uses this drive to turn around and eliminate Drew. What? He was way too likeable! It made him a threat. He gets it!
And to be fair, he does! Despite knowing she was responsible for his elimination, Drew continues to root for Chrystyna until her elimination, and when the two are reunited at the losers’ resort, Drew is quick to flirt and tease Chrystyna, and the two quickly and quietly end up dating.
In private, the two got along well despite all of their differences. Chrystyna was used to people being interested in her as a result of her family name, but Drew was interested in who she was as a person. The two were good listeners for each other, and understood each other beyond the surface level. Unfortunately, their differences eventually began to drive a bigger and bigger wedge into their relationship. Drew wanted PDA, Chrystyna would deny their relationship even existed. She was blunt and rude at times, and Drew was quiet and passive. When Drew found out that Chrystyna had used his phone to send messages vouching for her harmful actions towards another cast member, he publicly ended their relationship within the first few days of filming season two.
And that should have been the end. Most people expected that it was.
But it wasn’t.
Season three rolled around, and both characters came back, competing at full force to win. Chrystyna for herself, and Drew partially in spite of Chrystyna. But spending all that time around each other brought back old feelings and memories of a connection neither of them had been able to find with anyone else. Towards the end of season three, the familiarity of a campfire on a summer evening after weeks of being around each other brought these feelings to a head. An off camera kiss was shared between the two.
After Chrystyna defeated Drew in the season three finale, the pair ended up in a casual relationship. This worked...for a while. Drew wanted something more serious. Chrystyna didn’t. Things ended.
Until Chrystyna’s birthday (AKA Halloween) later that year.
Knowing Drew well enough to know that he wouldn’t have Halloween plans, Chrystyna invited him over, and he agreed. He was gone in the morning, but not without leaving her a full meal ordered from her favourite breakfast place. That’s when it hit Chrystyna.
But it was too late.
