Dried Spider - Just Where

The project began as a collaboration between West End neighbours, Matty Witney and Simon Andrews. The two bonded over quiet anarchistic tendencies, and soon began performing Matty’s lost boy off-world soul songs as a big tone electric guitar duo.

When Simon (a.k.a Daddy Loops) announced that he was travelling to the USA for the upcoming Burning Man Festival, and to be with his lady-love, the pair jumped into action to sow the seeds for the future of the project. They arranged six of the tunes to take into the studio with a band. The initial session at West End’s iconic Tanuki Lounge studio captured the foundations of the band sound, and a furious week of home recording ensued before Simon left the country. Over the next months Matty crafted the recordings to a place where visionary producer Spender could step in and draw forth the deeper sparkle. Travelling back and forth between Spender’s home town of Melbourne and Brisbane, the EP ‘Wounded City’ came into its skin and is slated for a Oct/Nov release.

This is so so good, that we have had it on repeat most of the morning!
