I think one of Drift's biggest fears is being a "charity case". He doesn't feel like he's truly deserving of anyone's kindness. This is part of why he was so willing to take the fall for Rodimus about Overlord. He feels like he constantly needs to earn his keep in peoples minds. He has made so many mistakes and he feels like he'll never truly be able to atone for them. That's why it hurt when Ratchet made that dig at him about all the Autobots he's killed. I don't really have a point I'm just angry for him and emotional. This is why I find Dratchet so appealing. Ratchet is the one person who never acts like Drift owes him anything even though he's the reason Drift is even alive. He doesn't regret saving him even though he went on to make some really bad decisions. Ugh anyway
As much as I do like Rodimus, I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive him for the way he talks about and treats Drift to make himself look better. Like obviously he cares about drift. They're friends. It's just so easy to see how Roddy changes his tone when speaking about Drift to higher ups ar anyone he seeks to gain favor with.

Another thing I really enjoy about fanon Drift is that in a lot of fan media he can not only see auras, but sense a field (sometimes others can do this but idk if this is just a popular fanon thing or what??) But!!!! I really love that because it makes sense kind of? Like after so many brushes with death -and actual dying- his circuits might be more sensitive. When you put that in addition to his constant meditation and special attention to other mechs, it really makes a good amount of sense that he can feel these small shifts in energy and be really good at reading people
I think this would particularly drive Ratchet nuts. He's trying to diagnose someone and is really wracking his brain over it and Drift just leans over and goes "it's not the spark, it's the energon pumps. They'd be far more jittery if it were the spark". Ratchet rolls his eyes, but finds him to be correct. Later he goes to Drift like "how could you POSSIBLY have known that?"

Why Drift have wheels in his forearms... why not shoulders like most other mechs,,,,,idk I like it bc he is easier to draw that way but I wanna know the design reason.
Note: I'm talking specifically about mtmte Drift bc I can't remember if this is the case in LL)
