“Alright, pops, you’ve almost survived the whole bloody weekend with us two wankers. I think you’ve earned a couple pints and maybe a nice, relaxing soak in one of these big fancy tubs, yeah? First round on me?”

Happy Holidays, you Rebel scum!

Alex had to admit, for all the flirtation and sexual energy that had once been a heavy presence between them, she was glad that what had really lasted between them was a real friendship. Not to say that she still wouldn't always look at Idris with a certain fondness, feel a naughty memory seep in here and there, and maybe a fantasy she wasn’t actually going to admit to these days, but his friendship and the ability to call him when she was in a pinch was beyond valuable. He'd come over sometime the night previous, bearing a bag from the chemist with Sprite for her and baby paracetamol for Ian. The fact that he'd had to drive out of his way to find a 24 hour establishment was not lost on her. She'd have promised the moon in return at that moment if he'd have asked.
She'd let him in the door and offered him tea, which he'd ended up making himself after she dosed the baby and collapsed on the sofa, too sick to be any sort of real hostess, and certainly not at this hour anyway. She was glad he didn't mind.
She hadn't remembered falling asleep and woke in a small panic after realising her son's weight was no longer present on her chest. She was quickly soothed to find that he was only a few feet away on the overstuffed chair, looking smaller than ever as Idris cradled him, matching dead to the world open mouthed expressions. She really hoped that he wasn't about to pick up whatever bug they'd caught. But it was the first time in two months that she'd had this much uninterrupted sleep, so she didn't hesitate to smile tiredly and fall back asleep for awhile longer.

Idris? Hey. What are you doing?
May I join you?

Lara: I had fun last night. Dancing with you was wonderful. Going home with you, even better.
Lara: I do apologize for dozing off now and then on the dance floor. But I managed to stay awake for the most part.

She had everything set up nicely, at least, she planned everything to be nice. Luckily, when they arrived, she smiled brightly upon seeing the cabin. It had been everything she asked for when booking it for the weekend. It should be, she thought, for all the money it was. “It has a hot tub, massage chairs, fully stocked kitchen, as well as one of those adjustable mattresses.” Lara was telling Idris as they walked to the door. It was quite a luxurious cabin, although small. Trees and dirt surrounded them as well and Lara quite enjoyed the nature.

Lara: So, I'm taking a day off because I haven't spent enough time with you recently. Off set, that is. So, when are you free? I'll be all yours.

She felt so immensely happy. The fact that Idris had suggested them becoming a couple brought no questioning to her mind; she could only agree. It almost seemed strange now to know that this officially began in Vegas of all places and that Lara had thought it might be simple impulse. She had strong feelings for Idris and she felt good about that. The woman wanted to nurture and care for him, because he was a wonderful person who deserved someone to care for him. He was her person. She had a simple dinner prepared, nothing extravagant like usual, mostly because she was so scatterbrained at the moment. Tobias seemed to sense her joyful excitement, tilting his head and nudging her playfully as she waited anxiously for Idris to arrive.
