British Pattern 1879 Midshipman’s Dirk

The 17’’ blade is in good condition with some staining but all of the etching clear. Retailer mark to base reading ‘E W Seagrove - The Hard - Portsea’. The hilt has a tiny movement (blade firm but cross guard slightly loose) but with its shagreen and wire in excellent condition. It is missing the button that secured it in its scabbard on the reverse of the dirk and the ring that the sword knot was attached to.
