a posing drill monkey

gonna be honest, i wasn't sure what kind of monkey was in my profile picture for a long time, but now i can reasonably conclude it's a drill (mandrillus leucocephalus).
yep, they're close relatives to mandrills.
We love that smile. Drill monkeys are known for being shy, but they have great smiles. They use this smile, known as an “appeasement grin,” to keep the peace when they greet others.
