Hate seems to begin within oneself. It appears that hate directed at others can always be reduced, in its simplest form, to self-hate, projected outwardly. Hate seems to stem from anger, which seems to stem from fear. Therefore, one who lacks fear will also lack hate. One who is confident and comfortable enough with themself to retire into their own body and soul can use this feeling of comfort to feel safe and solid, and can view and use the body as a shield from the unpredictability of the world. At this level of comfort, one begins to trust oneself and the Universe, with which they are inherently interconnected, enough to know that things will turn out the way that they are supposed to regardless of what happens. One becomes capable of understanding that nothing is organically more positive or negative than anything else, but that this is all rather a matter of perception. When all of this is felt and comprehended, there is no place for hate. One feels safe enough to see their own beauty, which leads to a change in the lens through which one sees the Universe at large. Focusing on one’s own physical and spiritual beauty allows one to focus on the physical and spiritual beauty of others as well. As we feel secure enough to work patiently with ourselves, rather than to angrily hate certain aspects of ourselves, this patience is transferred to our relationships with others as well. If you are safe within yourself, there is no reason to hate anything or anyone else, because you know that other beings do not have the power to influence you. If you do not fear what you might find inside yourself, you will lose the hatred of that which is different, because the fear of being surprised by your own reflection in that difference will be gone. Hate is a heavy and burdensome thing to carry; love is light, energizing, and inspiring. Hate and love both begin within the self, and are projected outward to reach other beings and be spread throughout the Universe. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, but only changed in form. Therefore, let us alter our fear and hate to love, appreciation, and patience, for ourselves and for all beings.
