Reacting to an Emergency Vehicle

You can hear the sirens ... your heart starts pounding ... where is it heading ? Don't panic. Stay Alert. Prepare to clear the way!

React quickly but calmly - Use your signal to show you are going to pull over. Don't slam on the brakes or pull over suddenly. 

Check your rear view mirrors - Look in front and behind you for other vehicles also pulling over.

Wait for the Emergency Vehicle to pass & watch for other responders  - check to make sure the way is clear and signal before merging into traffic.

Do not turn at an intersection - proceed through the intersection and pull to the right as quickly as possible.

Take lights and sirens seriously. Clear the way! Pull to the right and stop. IT'S THE LAW.
