As a roadway engineer, I approve of this message.
I took a Driver’s Education class in high school, where they told me that “you could be thrown from your car if you’re not wearing your seatbelt when an accident occurs.”
What they did not tell me was that in some cases you could be launcHED 20 DAMN FEET INTO THE AIR.
That is the height of a two-story building.
Do not seek out videos of crashes where people did not have their seatbelts on. I found this out the hard way. They are literally flung out like they’re weightless and the damage is absolutely horrible.
Please, for the love of all that is good, wear your seatbelt.
And now, this public service announcement from Samantha Samuels.

IF YOUR WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE ON, THEN YOUR HEADLIGHTS SHOULD BE ON TOO!
If visibility is lessened because of rain and mist, and your lights are off, the backend of your car becomes camouflaged and hard to see.
LIGHTS ON YOU NUMBSKULLS. All the fucking time! It literally doesn't hurt your car to keep your lights on, and it makes you more visible on the road!
ALSO, USE YOUR TURN SIGNALS!
PSA
Please do NOT drive while drowsy. If you feel sleepy, PLEASE GO TO THE NEAREST STOP, CALL A FAMILY MEMBER OR CALL THE POLICE SO THEY CAN GET YOU HOME. DO NOT DRIVE DROWSY!
My uncle Jason has just passed away after being run over by a trucker asleep at the wheel. He left my 4 cousins and aunt after they chose to pull the plug on him yesterday. And it has devastated them. His son just started kindergarten and will never be held by his father ever again.
PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE DROWSY!
Drive safely. Get enough rest before you take the wheel. And whatever you do, don't be impatient.
Those extra few minutes are really not worth it if you’re dead or injured. (Or if harm comes to someone else because you were in a rush.)
