“Realtime delivery by flying robots. Anytime. Anywhere.”
Oz startup Flirtey's motto is: "Realtime delivery by flying robots. Anytime. Anywhere." Interesting story from Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps about plans to introduce medicine drops by drones in Virginia. A new twist on RAMAirborne for Stan?! We're sharing this RAM image of Stan and Chris Hall getting a run-through from Flirtey co-founder Tom Bass at RAM's Rockford HQ.
Flirtey has been teaming up with fellow Australian startup Zookai, promising schoolbooks delivered by drone. Six months on, Flirtey CEO Matt Sweeney, thinking globally, has landed a partnership to conduct high-tech testing at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), which has high level indoor flight test facilities. UNR is located in one of the few areas in the US for which drone testing has been approved. Flirtey will also recruit graduates from the Unmanned Autonomous Systems minor at the UNR's College of Engineering.
Since the FAA is experiencing approval delays, while waiting Flirtey can best develop safety, range and payload in Nevada where the desert and snow in the winter are a push.
Flirtey welcomes work with Remote Area Medical in Virginia. RAM is also involved with several clinics in Nevada.

As for Virginia, we’ve seen links via the Health Wagon and elsewhere which say Flirtey Hexacopters will be coming to the Wise area in July through the first 18 days of the month with emphasis on the 16th-18th, following a Drone Law seminar at the Inn's Ballroom. This story was recently covered by the Kingsport Times-News in their article ‘Drones eyed for economic, medical impact in SW Va.’
