Never let me take care of a baby chat-
Another sibmission for the gilded egg!
IT IS MINE !!!!!!!!
Oh my god. Srk love songs will heal us all. He was born to do this.
This look. Why is it so hard to have this look for an entire movie. But I'll take this and lap it up till the last drop.
Good lord the makers know how to use him in his genre, thank gods.
This song was just soft and lovely and everything srk. Him in love should always be a genre because I love it, we love it and he too loves it.
RARE DROP!
I was on my way out on another expedition when my companion delivered...this egg to me. I have never seen this kind before, I do not know where it was found. It was just in the saddlebags of my companion - I did not put it there.
There is an immense weight to it - not physical, but...I feel strange around it. There is something different about this egg. I can feel it. It is warm, and...seems to vibrate slightly.
Under normal circumstances I would care for such an anomaly myself, but my hands are truly full - the entire reason I started this hatchery in the first place. So I must outsource it once more. Please, please, take special care of this one. There's something...unique. About it.

-----------------------------------
The rules for a rare drop are slightly different! First, there is a much longer submission period - you will have 24 full hours to enter your submission.
Second, we do not know where this egg came from - you have no hints about how to best care for it or what it wants! And it will need something special to hatch. I do not have an outright "correct" answer in mind, but it will need more than just warmth! (To clarify: You do not need to guess correctly what it needs in order to win. Any submission can still win, as long as you are doing something unique for it, and following the guides below.)
Additionally, the adoption requirement has increased. Written submissions will need to be 500 words, and there needs to be at least 2 drawings - could do a comic!
Additionally, if you just got an egg you are not on cooldown. Anyone can submit for a rare drop at any time.
Good Luck.
This is
A timer
I hope I get an egg this time!!! 🤞🏼
Anyways the keeper of whisps would take care of the beautiful, mysterious egg the most, usually keeping it in her soft and fluffy hair, but some of the other critters in the family would help and take turns caring for the egg in their own way :)
(I tried to draw the egg with all my other adopts cuz my hands are cramping way too much, I ran out of room on the page, and it's now really late over here so I need to get to bed TvT but if I do happen to get the egg then I plan on finishing and run the egg with the rest of my adopts when I get the chance)
Another submission for the gilded egg!
Hurray I could finally submit something for these!! >u<!! Anywho, a deer guide to caring for the mysterious rare egg!!!
Most of the time, I would set the egg down on a pillar I've found under some old wind chimes to play it melodies! The blanket is mainly for stability and to easily move it if needed. It felt regal, like something that would've lived high up. But I cannot that high so a pillar felt like the best I could offer!
When it becomes stormy though, which isn't ideal for egg I imagine, I would use the blanket to secure the egg to me and travel somewhere better! On the way, I'd hum little songs as one does since I'd feel bad for taking it from the wind chimes. When storms pass, I'd return it safely to the pillar. Singing/songs feels very important for some reason. I am just a deer I go with what feels right,
Not portrayed in the artwork but if it got too hot/no wind, I'd also maybe blow on it or see if anything in the house I've been using for the egg works at making wind to keep the egg cool. A deer can only hope for success under these conditions!
Okay outside of the goofiness- I both hope I did this right and wish for the best with submitting. Hurray! Goblino finally could participate yippeee!
Another for the gilded egg!
SCRAMBLES IN, 640 WORDS FOR U YOUR HONOR
---
Dawn Strider, unicorn of a town people could barely remember the name of as old and as far as it was tucked against the Everfree Forest, had once again crashed through the ravine's canopy after jumping off the cliffs above.
Suicidal?, one may question incredulously. The answer would be a resounding no, actually.
Grunting, Dawn magically tugged at the release of her latest flying device, resembling something close to wings as it thankfully released from her frame.
Another failure in a long line of them, Dawn considered as she poked and gradually freed the contraption from the mess of branches and leaves she'd picked up on her way down. A bit disappointing, perhaps, but she took it as the learning opportunity it provided, mentally logging what worked and what hadn't.
It hadn't felt right, for one. Nothing like the feeling she craved, nothing like-
A tug.
Dawn blinked away from the floating pieces of her work, scanning the shades and shadows of the woods she'd known her whole life. Though that didn't rule out dangers, being so close to the forest that alone ruled itself.
Another tug, insistent. Dawn slowly turned and-
Of all the things to expect, an egg was probably near the bottom of the list. It sat in a patch of pure sunlight, the gold upon the pale cream shell catching light.
It looked ethereal. It looked majestic, something one might see in a dream.
Dawn distinctly was not dreaming, and that egg had not been there a second ago.
She hesitated, scanning around for any sort of nest. She hadn't seen or heard it fall.. and there were no tracks in the dirt and leaf litter.
It was simply.. there.
Odd, vaguely unnerving, and probably should not be approached considering how close the Everfree Forest was.
…but it was still just an egg. If left alone it could be eaten, and maybe that was the way of the forest, but something still in Dawn's chest sunk at the thought.
Pulling her newly freed contraption after her with a spell, Dawn slowly, carefully approched the egg. Still no signs of a nest in the trees or the ground. Just the egg, gone one second and here the next.
Making up her mind, Dawn gently curled her magic around the egg it pick it up-
And yelped at the yank to her magic, even as she lunged forwards to catch the fragile thing with her forelegs before it could hit the ground.
Green eyes stared, rounded and huge, as her yanked magic sparkled and curled around the egg before the egg itself seemed to absorb it into itself. It seemed to hum with a sound she couldn't hear, gently warming against where the fragile shell was pressed into her legs.
There was the vaguest, oddest sense of a small second heartbeat next to her own now.
"…We are going," Dawn told the egg that wouldn't respond but could maybe hear her anyways, "right to the library to figure out what in the world you are."
And how to care for it. As far as Dawn planned at the moment, she was going to pull out a woven basket, line it with regular blankets and an enchanted heating blanket, and figure out if she could get that sun lamp out of the back of her closet where she stuffed it after the winter months. But who knew what else it could need? Dawn sure didn't.
So to the library they'd go.
…As soon as they got back up the cliff. Dawn sighed, and gently tried curling her magic around the egg again. It didn't yank this time, but there was a small sense of.. absorbing, a little. All the more important to get home then. Thankfully, the egg letting her carry it magically made that a whole lot easier.
It takes some time for the egg to hatch, even with the magic it absorbed. But the magic does appear to be helping - each little bit of magic absorbed it seems to...hum more. More intently. It never actually seems to move, physically, but the sensation intensifies. The egg defies most logic - watching it you never see it move. Placing your hoof upon it as well, there is no vibration.
But vibrate and hum it does, you swear. More intensely with each bit of magic it absorbs.
Until the day arrives, when it does begin to physically, visibly, start to shift and move. But it does not hatch like any egg you have seen. There's little rocking, little shifting. Instead, pieces begin to...simply fall away. The golden crest and horns upon it fall into the nest with gentle thumps, leaving a strangely ordinary looking egg behind. But even then, cracks seem to appear with no effort at all, and the shell begins to fall away.
The hatchling lifts its head, regal and...strangely somber, despite being so newly hatched. It is quiet as it looks around, each stretch of a limb slow and deliberate, then sees you. It dips its head slightly.
The hatchling has deemed you worthy.

What an absolutely stunning creature - its gender is difficult to discern right now, as is much about it. We know so very little, but perhaps as it grows we can find out more? Congratulations on your new friend!
I’m here for the Rare GILDED EGG!!!
Here’s my oc Cassiopeia finding the Egg, curious about what could be inside, and sensing some sort of odd energy from it…
And, to warm the egg, she placed a circle of magical crystals around it. The crystals give off a warm glow, and they are imbued with a mystical energy. She hopes that this will help, but we’ll have to wait and see…
I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HATCHES!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERS FOR THE EGG!!!
