Have to say the Police in this one are so slow.
TaeJu poor man is going to end up in a hospital the way it's unfolding. Se Yoon is so brave though to keep fighting. I like her a lot atp and am highly suspicious of Tae Ju now. Because he might not have kidnapped her but he has a lot hiding. And please don't make him a cheater. That tension with his junior was unsettling.

Simply because the horror genre is not my thing. But this was so well done and the actors are all so good. Also I kinda need kdramas to stop with the sequelbaiting. Because there's never a timeline about that and you end up forgetting even though the og seasons are quite good.
The story was paced fine. You slowly get to the truth through layers of deception and just human greed. And something human regrets. Accompanied by a splendid soundtrack and of course great visuals. They outdid all dramas this year in the visuals department.
Nam Joo Hyuk's return to the screen and he did a tremendous job. The shabby unwashed look looks great on him🙃
Ro Yeon Seo really is a talent that one should always look out for. This was another good performance.
Cho Seung Woo is now the dad of Kwak Dong Yeon and Ro Yeon Seo. Also the nation😬
Can't really complain about him being third billed because the character was important and I'm just glad to catch him on the screen.
Special mention to the guy who played the Shaman. He was hella creepy. Tae In Ho of course is there because he comes as a pair with csw and was just another evil schemer. Queen Dowager and the king's mother both being evil in their own ways.
Kwak Dong Yeon of course wasn't advertised because he was the finale.
Anyway a really good show to show how humans are more evil than evil spirits. All the murders for a throne and that throne is now a tormenting chair.
And also there's cute spirits who just want ricecakes😁
That scene between Cho Seung Woo and Kwak Dong Yeon in episode 7 showcases the morals of a king who did what he had to and another who was just greedy for the seat.
Not saying the former is suddenly the good guy but there's guilt and remorse and he just doesn't want his son to become like that. But he realises his son is gone...way far gone to be a human even. And thus triggers the disaster.
A show witha villain is as good as the villain they say and I agree. This show has plenty of those and you see they're all so good in being morally ambiguous.
That said that shaman gives me the creeps.
If Prince Yeongan shows any signs of waking, let it see your blood. The window will be brief.
THE EAST PALACE 동궁 · 2026
One of the very well done shows I've watched recently. The costumes the makeup the effects are all so well done.
The transitions in the very first episode tell you clearly everything you need to know.
A very visually stunning drama. Even with the evil spirits.
I am very attached to that rice cake eating spirit.
Mvp of the show according to me😁
This show has some of the grossest looking spirits but it's not icky ...idk I'm not annoyed or terrified of these as of yet.
The plot twists are well done as of yet.
Now on to the second half to see how they end it.
East Palace has some of my favourite actors but it's a genre that I don't really vibe with.
Still hoping I'm able to watch it.
So Park Byung Eun plays a former police officer named Lee Soo Hyung. The other kidnapped lady says her name is Lee Seon Ja!?
The kidnapper has experience pulling such stunts!?
If this is not personal and he is just tormenting couples for giggles then he just became a very very evil villain in kdramaland.
Like I'll be impressed if they end this show at the current pace.
Okay I'm actually going to lose my mind waiting for this drama's weekly episodes.
They had a child and lost her. She blames him and he's a loner so he just took it. And then their marriage was over but now a crazy man is after them without any reason that we know of yet.
Watching the kidnapper teach kids was so scary. He's just being so nice and kind everywhere while orchestrating a whole crime.
I do not trust the other kidnapped woman. She sounds sus af.
Also very impressed with both our leads doing their utmost to survive the situation.

Been on my watch list for ages now and I finally started.
The gang's so silly but loveable.
Watching Phir Bhi dil hai Hindustani songs to remind myself that lead pairs can be hot cute sexy fun and lovely all at the same time.
Because good lord the fun songs of current era is just going to give me body dismorphia. Enough of the painted abs and "perfect" female bodies. Bring back natural chemistry.

So The Husband really got a great start. If the plot twists make sense then it's going to end up on the good side.
Because damn the first 2 episodes were thrilling smart and I'm genuinely worried about Se Yoon
My theory is that she caused some accident and the hospital couldn't save the person. The kidnapper might possibly be a husband who lost it all and thus has planned it all thoroughly to get his revenge.
Also the couple dynamics. They were adorable in the flashback scenes and cut to present it really couldn't be more over. I really wonder what happened.
And here goes waiting for episodes.
Korean variety shows are either the prettiest travel pieces or just so weird that you really question your celebrities.
So haven't been watching a lot of those recently.
Did pick up Rented in Finland because apparently I'm going through my Cha Eun Woo phase.
And the first episode was really nice. The group is nice. Like all of them. Je Hoon I didn't know was this much of a dork. Dong Hwi seemed like what I saw of him. Dong Yeon going to save these idiots by his preparedness. Eun woo is hilarious actually.
Also the way they keep going about Eun Woo being pretty like it's a wonder the man doesn't seem to have ego the size of Mt everest because the focus on his visuals is a bit excessive. And yes he is pretty. Must be insanely pretty irl. So I think he is extra weird to compensate for the pretty face.
That whole "luxury brand ambassador eating berries from in front of the toilet" bit encapsulated him pretty well.
Anyway. What a pretty place they have landed in. These shows always make me jealous. The place is so so stunning.
Episode 2
Je Hoon is such a fine actor truly. Utterly clueless about everything else though. But so so optimistic and easy going. It's a delight to watch him just help around and go with the flow.
Dong Hwi of course is funny. Poor guy fought a lonely battle with the logs of wood. Him caught between Eun Woo and Dong Yeon was funny.
Dong Yeon seriously is going to be their saviour. Man can totally survive in the wild. And he likes his alone nature time.
Eun woo is doing his rebellious kid thing who has to pull a prank every few minutes or he'll combust. That pitiful coffee sip was so sibling coded. Because getting a cup is that much harder when you can see your sibling have a whole cup ready.
Episode 3
My god the scrambled egg fiasco. Je Hoon really is that clueless. But he's so genuinely trying that you just laugh.
Dong Hwi stuck between helping the young ones. And trying to not annoy Dong Yeon. Poor guy just wanted to click photos and listen to music.
Dong yeon trying hard to not be pissed. Doing his best to feed everyone. Enjoying his Finland time actually.
Eun Woo on the other hand whips up side dishes when he is not pulling pranks.
Episode 4
Je Hoon comeback with the Jam.
Dong Hwi falling asleep doing yoga was so me.
Dong Yeon really saving their meals. Man really is the trip planner.
Eun woo going red because of second hand embarrassment. I too would have wanted to run away in those situations.
Episode 5
Eun woo politely conversing with their new host was so relatable. Man I need to be more social if I intend to explore the world.
Their new place is again so pretty. But yeah I'm not sleeping in the air.
Episode 6
Je Hoon twerking after that scrambled egg. He is the highlight fr.
Dong Yeon should just abandon them for once and go boat in peace for a day. That would make for a survival episode.
Dong Hwi never lacking words to praise Eun Woo's beauty and then there is Eun Woo being as weird as you possible can with strangers.
That caterpillar twerking though 👌
Episode 7
The new place has rooms and electricity and gas stoves. You really realise the convenience of technology when you have to make do without them fr.
Again a lovely place. All the animals.
Butter Lee is a nice name. He really likes his butter but what improvement from that egg fiasco.
Dong Hwi kinda amused plus amazed by Eun Woo continues to be hilarious.
Dong Yeon holding back to not scold Je Hoon left right because my god I would have been stressed.
Eun Woo choosing that small room was kinda cute.
Episode 8
I too want to roam around on a bicycle in nature but boy will I be scared af.
Anyway. They just keep eating delicious meals and I am so envious of their improvement as novice cooks.
Episode 9
They got everything they wanted and still went back outside. Tbh what everyone who spend on vacation would do.
The place is so so nice though.
Episode 10
What a cute show. A new place in my bucket list now.
The crew full on fangirling over Eun Woo...guys calm down already he's a mortal just like us.....fangirls over his shows simultaneously 🫠
Anyway Je Hoon cutest one of the bunch. Already loved him as an actor. He's just so likeable. Dong Hwi entertains as you expect of him. And Dong Yeon surprisingly very different from what I imagined him to be.
