Why uneven skin tone appears and how to correct it
Before you reach straight for the makeup to cover up uneven skin tone, it’s possible to help correct the marks, leaving you with clearer and healthy-looking skin and a much better base for you to apply make-up.
To help you correct uneven skin tone, it’s important to know why it occurs. There are three main contributors:
1. UV exposure can cause sun damage and hyperpigmentation such as sun spots, liver spots or age spots. The cells containing melanin cluster together and form marks that appear darker on your skin
2. Increases in oestrogen from birth control pills or pregnancy can stimulate pigment cells to work overtime and create an overproduction of melanin in the skin, which isn’t contained to small circles like you’d see with UV exposure
3. Small injuries from acne scarring and small cuts can spark melanin production, which sometimes leave small marks on the skin
Fortunately, there is a simple way to correct these marks. Bio-Oil contains a unique blend of ingredients that work together to balance the skin, including vitamin E, for smooth skin; calendula oil for its regenerative qualities; lavender oil for overall improved skin function, and Purcellin Oil which makes it possible for all the ingredients to soak deeper into the skin. Applying two drops of Bio-Oil twice a day can help reduce the marks that cause uneven skin tone.
