D&D inspired meals; this one’s inspired by my go-to choice: the Drow Circle of Spores Druid.
Garlic and white wine fried button mushrooms, and a deconstructed mushroom burger, consisting of toasted tiger bread drizzled with olive oil, marinated chestnut mushrooms (although portobello are preferable), cheese and rocket salad with fried caramelised onions.
(The marinade I used on the chestnut mushrooms is my version of a montreal steak seasoning; using a mortar and pestle, I ground fresh garlic cloves into a paste, added 2 tbsp smoked paprika, cumin and black pepper, a good crack of salt, coriander and both chipotle chilli flakes and cayenne pepper (to taste, depending on how spicy you like it). I then shoved it in a bag with the mushrooms and a good splash of balsamic vinegar and white wine)
