She still hums, but its quieter as she listens.
Her memory flashes back to a hallway, her humming to herself when she refused to even speak to anyone else. She’d barely made a noise since Vi had left and it had been months after Silco plucked her from the ashes. She heard singing, the same song as he sings now, echo out from the office. Even after she had trashed that same office, he still reached out to make a connection to her. That was the point everything changed and their bond formed. She wasn’t alone.
She jolts as she nearly slips off the beam, realising she must have zoned out for a moment and lost her balance. Carefully she turns it into a more controlled drop onto his desk, crouching there, her arms around her knees as she watches him.
In the next verse she joins in, her voice not as refined as his but she can still hold a note at least. She loved his singing, it soothed her and quietened the demons in her head.
