My prediction on who has died during the battle before the petrification reached them in time, in order of most to least likely;
1 - Kinro
I think Kinro is most definitely dead. The last time he got any major development was his fight against Magma way back in the Sulfa-Drug arc, and any other minor development he got was to do with his relationship with Ginro.
Ginro on the other hand, had gotten some major character development as of late, almost all of which is about him becoming less of a coward. There’s been a few instances that talk about how strong the brothers’ bond is, and how they try to look out for one another, but most of the time, its Kinro looking out for Ginro.
They make of point of Ginro trying to be better when he asks Kinro to spar with him, and show a lot of moments of Kinro being proud of Ginro (The sparring, Ginro jumping on the Perceus) so I think that this is very much a show of how much they love each other before one dies.
I also think that Kinro dying will 1) sever Ginro’s reliance on Kinro and 2) give Ginro the final push into becoming a genuine fighter. Ginro will still have Matsukaze to fall on for moments of weakness, but ultimately he will abandon being “the village sleazebag”
2 - Hyoga
So Tsukasa out right states that Hyoga’s dead, but he’s facing away from Tsukasa so that’s why he’s not no.1 on this list.
What does make me think he’s dead though, is that fact that we see Mozu using the Kan-Ryu seat fighting style. When Hyoga and Mozu fought, Mozu respected Hyoga as a better fighter and wanted Hyoga to train him in his fighting style, so this could be like Hyoga passing on the torch down to Mozu. This goes double considering they have almost the same ideals.
3 - Ukyo
They’re moving into a War. That’s no place for pacifism.
It would be interesting to see him having to abandon his ideals, and the inner conflict to do with that, and that’s probably where they’re going with this,
But Ukyo holds a lot of reputation for being one of the Five Generals, yet all he does is monitor the radio. Chrome as shown that he knows how the sonar works, so aside from Ukyo’s good hearing, his job could be done by someone else.
If he’s alive, he has to abandon his pacifism, which is too much of a key in his personality.
4 - Tsukasa
I think it will fucking suck if Tsukasa dies, because of how much of the story was dedicated to finding the petrification device to save his life only for him to die now,
But his speech as he was dying is showing him almost completing his character arc in accepting science.
5 - Taiju
I love Taiju, and he is so important to the story, but like Ukyo, he can’t be a pacifist when they get revived. They can't convince Stanley and Xeno to join their side, there’s no other option.
This would also absolutely crush Senku, and is also going to show him that he can’t save everyone. I don’t think both Ukyo and Taiju will die though, so if one is confirmed dead, the other will live I think.
6 - Kirisame
She's kind of a background character at this point, and aside from her fighting style being a little different, she doesn’t have much to offer the story. Any information on Treasure Island can be relayed from Mozu and Matsukaze.
7 - Francois
Francois is fantastic, and I think they still have a lot to offer the story, but I think that they’re relationship with Suika, and how they sacrificed themselves to save Suika is enough for them to make the list. Not only that, but they made such an impression on everyone, and they’re death change Ryusui in the same way Taiju’s death would Senku.
8 - Magma
Magma has been such a good character recently, and is on the fine line between background character and important character for his death to impact the story but not enough to derail it, but I also don’t think his story has ended.
