How family dynamics factor into Starline, Surge and Kit

This points to Starline leveraging the whole "father figure" thing on top of siblinghood with Surge and Kit. He wanted to leverage that "familial devotion" when he created them to make their emotional bond and loyalty to him and eachother all the much stronger. He even calls them his children.

Belle's involvement in Surge and Kit's creation and emotional issues was a huuuuuge core of their being. In binary, this says "Soul"

Belle was Mr.Tinker's daughter more than she was his creation. This is the difference between Mr.Tinker and Eggman, Mr.Tinker saw Belle as family, not a pawn. Therein lies the familial love which was leveraged when creating Surge and Kit. Basically that "sense of purpose and belonging" "familial devotion" "loyalty" all of that. And i believe it affected Kit the most since he was made to be absolutely loyal. This kind of stuff wouldn't stick so much with someone hinged on Hate like Surge. On top of that, Kit directly grew up with Surge while in training, so he actually got to be around her and let that bond grow. Meanwhile, Surge had not even met Sonic, who her brainwashing was centered on, so the hypnosis did not stick as much with her. I know this next arc is focused on Belle, and since im obsessed with these 2 im gonna be eating well analyzing how she thinks knowing how pivotal she was in their creation. Honestly, Surge, Kit, Belle, Sage, even Metal sonic as intelligent creations are all so interesting

This is another instance of their family-like bond being acknowledged, this time by Sonic. Now, its the most toxic, fucked up family ever, but its still hinging on that "family" emotional aspect.

Kit acknowledges how he even was made to feel happy about everything that happened to him. Because Starline manipulated him into enjoying it.

Starline makes them believe they wanted what is happening, that its something they should be happy about being allowed to happen, as if he grants them gifts from simply taking their memories and ransoming them back to them as he sees them more fit to his liking. Its the definition of ripping someone's arm off and them thanking you for giving it back to them afterwards like you just gave them a gift. Anyway thats the whole family thing i wanted to talk about and how Starline reinforced positive, familial emotions to keep Surge and Kit under his thumb

Ow, his body ached all over. How did this happen? How did he get here? Sonic got up tentatively; being careful just in case he's hurt somewhere. The blue hedgehog looked around, trying to find an answer. He looked down at the small crater that he happened to make. How the fuck did that happen? Did... he do that?

There's another question in his mind, and that is the most important one. Who is he? No name comes to mind. The hedgehog groans, stepping out and just obviously staying away from what mess he made. He kept moving, looking so lost and everything. Nothing is making sense. He moves faster and faster, all disoriented by all these questions. The wheres; the whos; the whats and the whys. Not looking where he goes, Sonic bumps into someone, an enemy that he no longer remembers. “ Whooooa! ” Hands out, Sonic steadied himself, grasping the other's shoulders. “ I am so sorry, pal. I didn't see you there! It's almost like you just came out of the shadows there, heh. ”

How convenient (or perhaps inconvenient for Starline) that night was also the time Comet chose to go out and gather supplies. He was quite surprised to find another anthro like him out here, however, and that was the primary reason the hedgehog even approached in the first place; purely on instinct, he trusted the platypus more than a human.

☄️⯮ "Y-Yeah, I... thought I knew my way around, but I guess not," the teen chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. Seeing Starline quickly resume walking away, he was quick to tail him, not wanting to be alone in the dark.

☄️⯮ "Ah-... w-wait! Can I at least follow ya until I'm sure of where I'm going?" It honestly didn't matter what the answer was; Comet was going to follow him regardless.
