Which is why many people is hoping that the Mysterious Villain is Starline and honestly Starline deserves a comeback. Basically started chain of events in IDW since things like the zetis, Mimic's escape, Surge&Kit, bringing back Eggman, and many more all started because of him.

I honestly hope there is backstory for him since it is unclear why he would commit to this acts for Eggman and how is comeback could lead to Surge learning the truth about Kit.

concept: Surge and Kit already knew each other previously as they were residents of the same children's hospital with the same disease that the doctor's couldn't cure

when approached by Clutch about a doctor who could cure them, they agree to go with him

"Kit" is hesitant but "Surge" convinces him

since Clutch used his influence to move them thru official channels, no one ever looks for them or reports them missing

Kit took less sessions to make him Surge's support because he already listened to her

they're not cured-cured but their enhancements mask most of their symptoms and damage

- Starline has a permanent limp and can’t se well out of his right eye. He also has a crack on his bill that’s mostly healed but still looks painful

- Starline has a bad habit of waking up at 4 am since he was forced to with Sonic.

- Mimic left his group because they tried to hand him over to Sonic in exchange. Whisper didn’t help or stop it. She actually stayed in the sidelines. ( which wasn’t!!! Smart)

- Mimic stays in another form to hide from the other diamond cutters

- Eggman is good but he’s also an idiot 😂 he’s called Dr Tinker.

- Tails is one of the most feared because his inventions are scary and can cause psychological trauma.

- Amy is the interrogator of the hedgehog empire

- Knuckles is the muscle who is anyone strips out of line…. Teaches them a lesson

- Sonic’s reign is called “ The Hedgehog Enpire”

- Clutch isn’t good or evil. He wants to stay out of crap 😂

- Not everyone is good or evil. Just…. In between the black and white.

- Sonic would kidnap highly intelligent people to use. Then get rid of them

- Starline was not able to fully graduate college. Since he was kidnapped in his 2 semester. So….. mimic got him into online classes.

- Starline wants to change the world but is afraid to step up

- Shadow is a secret weapon entity people are afraid of

- The deadly 6 are the mysterious 6. They are sought out because of their wisdom.

- Jet and his crew definitely are helpers of eggman but stay out of the way

- Belle is Dr Tinkers daughter.

- Sonic uses special rings to mind control people, instead of roboticizing.

- the Chaotix Detective Agency is both corrupt and not corrupt.

I do feel like the idw original characters like tangle whisper dr starline etc are, in the context of the comics, a bit more interesting than the actual main series sonic characters as they're presented in there. I feel like you see more of the passion of the creative team in those characters than you see in sonic or tails. Part of it obviously is for meta reasons--i don't buy that anythings seriously gonna happen to shadow or Eggman cause sonic team needs them for future videogames, but can tangle beat mimic on her own? There's some suspense there; I wanna see what happens! It just makes for a stronger story imo
