I’ve rewatched “Drumhead Trial” (Star Trek: The Next Generation, season 4, episode 21). This episode in contrast with two previous is very serious. It’s about spying and sabotage. A Klingon exchange scientist leaked some information about Enterprise to Romulans, he’s also accused of blowing up some important part of the drive. An Admiral arrives to continue the investigation, the interrogations started, the Klingon admitted that he spied for Romulans, but didn’t admit sabotage. Then they found out that it was a mere accident and nobody blew anything up. During the interrogation, the admiral and her Betazoid assistant found out that a medical technician lied about something and held a huge secret. Even after the investigation seemed to be over and despite Picard's disagreement they decided to continue interrogations. They found out that that this medical technician’s grandfather was a Romulan, they also pointed out that Worf’s father is believed to Romulan collaborator. Fortunately, Picard managed to persuade the specially invited Admiral of security and the investigation weren’t necessary, the aftertaste remained. I didn’t remember that episode and the whole idea that in Federation a person may be accused just because he has “wrong” ancestors is very disturbing. P.S. What a dress the admiral had!
