Scottish holiday.

Mount Stuart, Inveraray Castle, - a Downton was filmed there, - tea at Mackintosh at the Willow, Drumlanrig Castle.

As a Fifer I don't get 'down south' very often, but South Lanarkshire Older Walkers...whose acronym is a wittily self-aware 'SLOW'.....were fantastic company today for a 7.5 mile stroll around Drumlanrig 🙂 That said, the pace up the first hill would have put some of my pals to shame ;-)

Anyway, my 38th Ramblers Scotland group were charming and gracious hosts , picking me up from Abington on their way down the M74 and enabling me to see the Dalveen Pass for the very first time. A surprisingly sheer and impressive pass, I might add, with numerous enticing cleuchs climbing away from the road. Somewhere to come back to, most definitely.

Tomorrow it's a Ramblers double, as I'm accompanying Dumfries & District for another walk in the far south. That'll be 39 groups down, 16 to go!

SLOW are based in & around Hamilton, with a membership of over 100!
