sometimes drunk benson whispers, “I know you like me, skips” into skips’s ear, and then scurries away
every guys night, skips hangs out at benson’s place to get away from the park (he likes the park guys, he just doesn’t want to do guys night stuff with them. they understand).
one time, guys night fell on valentine’s day. benson wasn’t sure skips would want to come over. he assumed he would have a date or something. it turned out skips didn’t have plans, and neither did benson.
the two of them spent the entire evening on benson’s couch, passing a bottle of wine back and forth, and chatting about life. they talked about benson’s exes, skips’s reluctance to start dating again... and by the end of the night, the two of them had scooted so close together on the couch that their arms were touching.
benson took one last swig, finishing the wine. he looked up at skips and smiled. “this is nice,” he said. skips nodded. “it is.” looking down at benson, skips could tell that his boss’s cheeks were a little rosier than usual. the wine had definitely affected him more than it affected skips. benson rested his head on skips’s shoulder. "I was afraid I’d feel like I was missing out, not having plans on valentine’s day and all... but you know what? I think hanging out like this is so much better than some weird one-night stand.” benson lifted skips’s arm over his shoulders and placed himself underneath it. he rested his head on skips’s chest. skips felt the warmth of benson’s body against his and carefully placed his hand on the smaller man’s waist. “you might be right,” he said.
when benson gets drunk enough to slur his words, he has trouble saying “skips”. he calls him “skip” instead, and skips thinks it’s adorable
clearly the favorite
“ Ok. So I didn’t win”
“It’s an honor that I’ve been nominated”
