Drunk Mingyu
Party
Bro, I’m really sorry for the delay. And tbh I’m not sure if I followed the brief. It was a bit difficult because there was no real plot and I still don't know if you’ll like it or not. z I just..yeah. Hope it;s ok. -Admin Plum
You bobbed your head in time with the beat, enjoying the way it flowed like liquid adrenaline coursing through your veins. You couldn’t contain your excitement for the upcoming party. They weren’t really your style, but this would be the first party you’ve been at with all of the Seventeen members. You were eager to see how they would react to a normal party environment, not one of those after work parties you sometimes had the privilege to attend. You were thankful the company had finally given in to your begging. The boys were always hard at work and now it was time for their reward. “Wooh!” You cheered as Hoshi joined you, chugging the contents of his red cup before flinging it behind him and swinging his hips to the music. Laughter reached your ears as you mimicked his movements. “The party hasn’t even started and you two are already drunk,” Wonwoo laughs as he throws another inflated ring into the pool. “For your information I’m not drunk. Hoshi is and why did you guys decide to have a pool again?” You asked as you stared at the circular structure in the far side of the room. You didn’t think they were being serious when they suggested having an indoor pool during your brainstorming session. This was supposed to be a dance party. You wonder if people would actually use it. There was no doubt that once people got drunk enough, they would but that was the issue that concerned you- drunken people swimming. As if reading your mind, Seungcheol pats you on the shoulder, “Don’t worry, I have two lifeguard friends who are coming to the party and they agreed to keep an eye on the pool for us,” He grins, dimples indenting his cheeks. You cock your brow, “Are you sure they can be trusted?” “Of course, worry wart! Now, come and help me find an ice pack. I can feel a lump forming on my head…” “Serves you right for letting Vernon push you on the ball return, that was super dumb.” - The music was louder now, to the point that it’s deafening. The party had been in full swing for about an hour now and you chuckle remembering Mingyu’s dramatic entrance. He had driven straight through the faux wooden doors of the old warehouse and the boys greeted him and his passengers by climbing all over his car, spray painting on his windows and welcoming the crowd outside to the party. There’s this incessant ringing in your ears and you can feel the toll your tonsils are taking from yelling over the music but it all goes over your head the more liquid enters your body. “No! Not the cheese puffs! Anything but the cheese puffs,” You cry out dramatically, rushing towards Dokyeom who was in the process of emptying the large bag of snacks on Joshua’s head. Minghao and Mingyu laughed at every wobbled step you took, eventually doubling over with their hands clutching their stomachs. “Y/N, I’ve never seen you so drunk before. This is hilarious,” Vernon says. You whip your head and stare directly into the camera in his hand, “I’m not drunk DiCaprio! Besides, even if I am, I bet I’d still be better than you at rapping.” You proclaim smugly.
A chorus of Ooh’s erupt in the crowd and Vernon looks at you with mild amusement, licking his lips at the thought of your challenge. “Rap battle time~!” Seungkwan sings through the microphone, garnering everyone’s attention. Vernon passes the camera to Seungcheol as Mingyu massages his shoulders while Wonwoo leads them to the stage, clearing a path by flailing his arms in front of him. Meanwhile on your side, Joshua has his arm slung around your shoulder, taunting the other team with amusing hand movements. Dino and Jeonghan hold the tips of their fingers against their ear and clear a path for you with puffed chests, pretending to be your bodyguards. Normally the whole situation would have had you snorting in laughter but you manage to keep your façade up. The DJ lowers the volume as you both face off on stage, eyes trained on one another as your ‘posse’ cheered you on. “You’re going down Hansolo,” You gibe. Vernon scoffs, waving his finger at you, “Nuh-uh-uh, you wish. Prepare to feel my force, Y/N .” “Oh, I’m ready Memesol. But the real question is, does your face hurt?” Confused murmurs buzzed through the crowd but you paid them no mind, instead choosing to finish your line, “Because it’s killing me.” “OH MY GOSH SHE WENT THERE!” Seungkwan screeches into the mic. You brush the invisible dust off your shoulder, smirking as the crowd erupts into cheers and Vernon stares at you, dumbfounded. You have no idea how you ended up winning. You know Vernon slayed you in terms of rapping, but the crowd loved your cringe-worthy dad jokes so much, Seungkwan had no choice but to crown you the winner. Though, even with blurry vision, you could tell he was enjoying Vernon’s loss. You wonder when the punishment for the rap battle was decided but the thought is pushed into the back of your mind as Vernon stands in front of you, helmet on his head and a ball of coloured powder in your hand. His nose is scrunched as he clenches his eyes closed, “Let’s go. I’m ready!” “Hi ready, I’m Y/N ” You say, releasing the powdered pigments towards his face. Chaos ensues when Vernon’s face turns blue and Minghao initiates the pigment wars by flinging a small bucket of pink pigment unto Vernon. Soon enough, every colour of the rainbow is flying in the air; people either rushing madly to hide from the onslaught of pigments or towards it. “ Y/N ! You’re so beautiful!” Seungcheol exclaims as he holds you in his arms, swinging you in circles. You bury your head in his jacket, begging him to stop. You really don’t want to vomit. You’re granted a moments peace until he surprises you again by throwing you in the trampoline. He follows you shortly, helping you up before jumping to his heart’s content. The signature black mat of the trampoline slowly turns int o different coloured shades as the powder from your clothes and body fly into the air with every leap. Minghao eventually replaces you, impressing the onlookers with his flips and you would’ve kept watching, if you hadn’t been distracted by Woozi. “How much did he drink?” You vaguely hear Dino asking Jun. “Enough.” “I’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO THIS!” Woozi yells as he jumps into the crowd, screaming in glee. “Is Lee Jihoon…crowd surfing?!” you ask astonished. A sense of childish envy overwhelms your body and you notice that it’s not just you when you see Dokyeom running up the stage with a wide grin. You chase after him and wait until he’s halfway through the crowd before diving into the sea of strangers yourself. The nervous feeling in your gut passes when sturdy hands support your body as it travels from one end of the crowd to the other. You were feeling euphoric, ecstatic that you were able to accomplish something you’ve only seen on screen. That is until a hand grabs onto your behind and gives it a firm squeeze. You yelp in shock and you don’t have time to thank Mingyu when he steadies your teetering figure because you’re too busy processing the sight before you. Joshua giggles alongside Jeonghan, their faces noticeably red. “Joshua fucking Hong, did you just squeeze my butt?” You slur, blinking away the tiredness slowly overcoming you. “No!” He whines, “It wasn’t me it was Hannie!” “But you’re smiling! If it wasn’t you then why are you smiling?” You accuse. He shakes his head again, repeating his words while pointing at his friend. Jeonghan slaps Joshua’s chest, hiccupping in between words “Stop-blaming-me!” You latch unto Dino, pointing to the two culprits and tattling on them. He scolds the pair diligently, dragging them off to a random corner for their punishment. “But Dino you’re my baby- don’t put me on time out!” Jeonghan wails. “I don’t deserve this! I was being influenced by the devil! Where is the justice?” Joshua says, running his hand down his face. Seungkwan plops down besides Vernon at the far end of the warehouse, it was quieter and dim-lit, a nice change from the wild strobing lights and upbeat music blasting on the other end. Vernon winces at the sound of water splashing. He watches as Wonwoo resurfaces from the water, hands high in the air, “Whale! My Whalien! Come down to daddy, it’s not safe up there!” He hears. “Everyone is wasted,” Seungkwan states, eyes glued to Jun’s figure. He was applying adhesive spray unto people’s clothes and sticking of random items to their backs, cackling madly in the process. Their eyes flick over to Dino who was dragging flush faced Jeonghan and Joshua behind him. “Agreed,” he mumbles. Joshua had fallen to his knees, screaming about Jeonghan’s devil deeds before cradling his knees against his chest. Jeonghan on the other hand wouldn’t stop whining about not wanting to go on time out, his arms latched around Dino’s neck. Seungkwan and Vernon couldn’t stop the amused laughter that slipped through their lips. It wasn’t every day the maknae would let anyone embarrass him so much. Then again, they were all family. As the party died down and the rest of the crew had gathered around the large fire pit the maknaes had prepared and settled themselves close to each other. You settle yourself on the floor, eyes surveying the tragic mess before you. The warehouse was a completely trashed. Dread washed over you at the thought of cleaning the chaos. But you stopped yourself from complaining. The boys looked utterly happy. It had been a while since you last saw them smile so naturally and a light feeling burst into your chest. Though most people held dazed gazes and stared off into nowhere, you admired the comfortable silence between them. The party was flashy and you’re not looking forward to the splitting headache you know you’re going to get in the morning but being able to have fun with your friends and help them relax made everything worth it.
