As the heavy rain of the storm outside pelted down like hail, Kyoko was drowning herself in her work. Nothing abnormal, but still, the discontent inside of you brought upon by the fact she practically never leaves her desk burned inside of you. At least that would keep you warm.
You waited on the couch, the previous scene replaying in your mind.
“Honey, where are you going?”
“There are some documents I have to finish filling out, it won’t take long.”
“But you promised you would take a break.”
“I know… it won’t take long. I’ll be right back.”
She gave you a kiss on the cheek before retreating to her office.
And here you were, waiting for what felt like days, ions even. You decided you had enough with her prolonged absence so you stood up and marched into her room.
“Kyoko? It’s been an hour already. You have to take a break.”
“I did. We sat down on the couch and cuddled.
“Kyoko, that was for like, 5 minutes! You need to take an actual break.”
You stood next to her desk, looking down at the papers that littered the table.
“I don’t need any breaks right now.”
You frowned, the dark circles around her eyes clearly proving otherwise.
“Come on, let’s take a nap or something. Anything.”
You took your hand in hers, giving her a pleading look. She looked back at her papers and paused. She had a good 6 or so hours left on her work and it was due in a few days. What was she going to do.
Reluctantly, she signed, getting up from her desk.
“Fine, I’ll take a break for the night.”
“R-really? Okay! Let’s go and relax.”
With your hand in hers, you both went back into the living room and returned to your previous cuddling position of you laying on top of her so you could stare into her beautiful eyes. You took your thumb and traced her eye bags, guilt seeping into you. Was it your fault for not being more stern with her when it came to her pulling all nighters for her work? You looked down and bit your lip to hide your shame, feeling your hands begin to tremble. Unbeknownst to you, Kyoko picked up on your behavior with ease. She was the ultimate detective, after all.
“There is no reason for you to be guilty in my place. If anyone should, it’s me.”
“Kyoko… I-I just get too worried about you, you know.”
“Mmm. I understand. Then I’ll try to not overwork myself as much, if it means you will not feel like this anymore.”
A teary smile stretched across your face, nuzzling your cheek against hers.
She let out a small chuckle, putting her arms around you. Her voice was very quiet and you swear your memory was playing tricks on you, but you swear you heard her say,
“I’d do anything for you, love”

On one crisp fall morning, you and your beloved boyfriend, Gundham Tanaka, decided to take a brisk walk through your local park to admire the wildlife before starting your busy day. Along for the ride, his twelve zodiac generals, spill into groups of six, decorate both of your shoulders and heads, nesseling comfortably as to seek warmth from the chilly weather.
As the two of you made your way down the familiar path which you have traveled many times before, your hands embraced and swung happily at each other's sides. Moments like this made you realize how much you truly loved this man.
A few relaxing minutes passed until you both heard a sound from the bushes, making you both freeze. Gundham jumped in front, holding an arm out to protect you.
“Hault, fiend! Make thyself present and I, Gundam Tanaka, and my twelve zodiac generals shall return you to the world in which you came from!”
His hamsters jump to attention, standing on his shoulders and head as if ready for battle. Suddenly, a low hiss sounded from the bush. You peaked around his arm, and to your horror, a long black snake slithered out.
“Fuhahahahaha! Go, my twe-“
Before he could finish, you let out an ear piercing scream, lurching backwards and landing on your back. He glanced back at you to see if you were okay before his eyes snapped back at the snake. A dark ominous aura radiated from him, his piercing gaze causing even the snake to stop its pursuit.
“Go, my twelve zodiac generals! Unleash your wrath akin to the fiery pits of hell!”
All of his hamsters jumped down at once, overwhelming the snake with ease.
He turned around and crouched next to you, lifting you to sit up.
“My sincerest apologies for your untimely fall, my fellow overlord. There is no need to fret, Gundam Tanaka, ruler of the nine realms will always protect you.”
He helped you to your feet, his hand resting on your back. You both looked over to see the now incompasitated snake surrounded by cute, happy hamsters. (My how the turns table)
“Let’s continue on our walk, my dear.”
He scooped up the generals and placed them in his scarf.
After that, he held you closer to him than before as he hugged your waist with his arm. The generals slept peacefully on both of your shoulders, tired from the intense fight. Just as he said before, he would never let any harm happen to his dear monarch. And by any, he means any.

The clean and somewhat sophisticated scent of the museum filled your senses as soon as you, and your dear financé Korekiyo, started walking down the long, roomy hallways. All of the walls were neatly decorated with all types of precious artifacts such as paintings, masks, vases, and tools. The spector was certainly something to see, but museums were never really something you found yourself latching onto. But, on the other hand, museums stuck to Korekiyo like a sugar-coated tack.
As you both continued down the hallway, you looked over into Kiyo’s eyes, which shone and sparkled with child-like splendor. Even after the millionth time going on a date to a museum, he still felt like it was the first. (Just without nervousness)
He stopped walking and turned to face a worn out statue of a god.
“Isn’t it just lovely? The way it has been carved shows that the craftsmen were truly talented for their time. Humans are the most magnificent creatures.”
You smiled up at him in response. Your gaze drifted off of Kiyos for a few seconds, scanning the space around the two of you. You suddenly realized how crowded it was. People’s voices mixed together to form one sound. One huge sound, one the rung in your ears like a church bell. The sound was almost deafening. You were about to bring your hands up to your ears before you heard a faint voice.
“Darling? My dear, what seems to me troubling you? Your hands are shaking. “
He squeezed your hand lightly as a form of reassurance. Though, this had the opposite effect as it only made you feel more overwhelmed. Carefully place a hand to your cheek, lifting it up so he can look into your eyes. His own eyes widened as he saw your panicked expression. He then realized why you were having this reaction as he searched his surroundings for what could be causing your this kind of feeling.
“Let’s go find a nice, quiet place for us to relax, my dear. “
He took your hand in his and led you past the crowd and into a side room labeled ‘Ancient Architecture’. The room wasn’t as big as other rooms in the museum and was themed after, who could have guessed, ancient architecture. You both sat down on a flat stone next to a faux bush. Your body immediately curled into a ball, leaning against Kiyo for support. He pulled you into an embrace, coaxing you out of your huddled position. You cling onto his uniform, tears pricking your eyes. You had no idea why you were reacting this way. Normally crowds made you uncomfortable, but they never made you react this way. Maybe it was stress from your work.
“My beloved darling, would you like to talk about what you are feeling?”
You shook your head against his shoulder.
“Okay, what would you like me to do to make you feel like yourself again?”
“…just.. hugging you. For a bit.”
You let out a couple of sniffs, nuzzling your face against him. He chuckled from your adorable actions.
Out of all humans on this planet, he truly does think you are the most beautiful.
