jace hadn’t seen  the girl in a year. exactly a year he had figured out as he stepped into the party. when he walked in on her with another guy doing lines of cocaine - naked, he didn’t even bother asking questions before calling her father and making some excuse as to why he could no longer stay at his house. he moved back home and worked from their farm for six months. in the last year, he had gotten a book published and gotten promoted at her father’s firm. as he made his way through the crowded party, he pushed his glasses up on his nose as he eyed the crowd, his hand firmly on the small of his date’s back. lindsay. he had been dating lindsay for three months when he figured out that sydney wasn’t going to come back or even apologize for what he had walked in on. and that’s when he saw her, a wave of sadness washing over him and forcing his heart to fall and crumble slightly in his chest. stopping the waiter that was walking by, he quickly grabbed a glass of champagne and downed it immediately.
