Cristina had created the image and reputation of being a hard strong woman, and she was for the most part but she did have her moments.. moments mainly Meredith got a window into, but this time it was Derek. It wasn’t the fact it was him, but another person to see her at a vulnerable moment. 

“Thank you.. I will be okay, I’m always okay” 

    DEREK GAVE A SOFT smile. “Now you sound like Meredith.” He told her gently and then encouraged her into the house. He lead her to the couch and sat her down, sitting beside her. “You two both need to start recognising when you’re not okay.” He rested his hand on her shoulder. “Do you want to talk about it?”

Cristina looked at the young girl and let out a sigh. “Did I ever tell you I lost my Dad too? It’s not an easy thing to deal with,” She said as she sat down and patted the spot beside her.

“You should talk to your mom, she’s a good one and believe me I had a mom.. You can always talk to me though, as I’m always going to be here for you.. here until I die”

    ZOLA TOOK A FEW seconds before she walked over to Cristina and took the seat next to her. She let out a little sigh and laced her fingers together in her lap. “I know she’s a good mom. But I see that look in her eye whenever I talk about dad. She misses him as much as I do and I don’t want to bring that up for her.” She lifted her head a little and then sighed again. “You really shouldn’t say that...it’s mean.” She told her aunt with a frown.
