Talking about my only angel/demon mix bby, Wax
Honestly, I just have suddenly gotten into a bout of “I love my Devil Shenanigans babs and lore so much” and that includes a character I really should explore more named Wax, the Guardian of the Devil’s Library and one of the only non-Head Demon members of the Demonic Court. So here’s some fun facts about the angelic demon:
He’s an angelic demon (yes already stated); his father was a fallen angel and his mother was a purebred
Due to the way his core/prism is structured, he is sterile. (He’s okay with this)
His arm was amputated after a rampant infection that infected a deep wound in his arm; the infection was extremely lethal to angels if not dealt with
Wax has angel wings! They’re often folded in underneath skin flaps in his back since he doesn’t really know how to use them (lol nerd doesn’t know how to fly). His wings are extremely slim and look like owl wings
Wax is extremely intelligent and can probably murder you with the power of his mind; spending tons of time in one of the world’s largest Mythic Libraries that has access to eons of information can do that to you
He doesn’t really have many friends; not a very sociable person. Although he does speak to his occasional assistant, Egore (eyyyy), and his apprentice, Scrolle; he very much likes them.
He is absolutely TERRIFIED of humans and the mortal realm in general. Since his dad was probably murdered up there, that’s kinda understandable
Speaking of his dead dad, he was sent to the mortal realm when Wax was 15 and never came back and was assumed dead, captured by facilities. Thus utter fear and hatred
He is also religious; he practices Zodism privately. Basically just the belief the Watchers have a destiny laid out for everyone and you can’t change that destiny no matter what. If you pray, perhaps the Watchers will consider being merciful with you
Zodism totally helped him grieve for his father and recover (he was raised Zodic)
He loves caramel and chocolate scones and biscotties. Give him some nice caramel tea/latte and he’ll lay down his life for you
He’s extremely gaunt and pale to the point where he appears unhealthy. However that’s just birth defects talking
He’s e x t r e m e l y powerful considering he has access to angelic and demonic powers. He could become Devil if he wanted but chooses not to because “Devil (Mortimer) already seems to be doing a good job”
Wax will eventually go blind while protecting the Library in Descendants Era and have his apprentice take over before he retires and dies of old age
Oh boy, prepare for a bit of rambling.
The setting and main characters really depend on what era of Devil Shenanigans I want to write about. Like Morty, Abelia and Chronis belong to The Old God era that lasts from when they become members of their respective species to when Mortimer dies. And then the Descendants Era that starts when Zalgo, Draco, and Athena get to be in charge.
If we’re writing in the Old God era, Mortimer is the main chara and settings vary. If we’re writing in the Descendants era, the main characters are Yama and Zoey, two exceptionally well rated cleansers, and the setting is mainly the mortal realm.
