Are ya'll ready for another Don't Starve post that no one asked for?!

Doesn't matter you're getting it anyway.

So, I was scrolling through all the character examination quotes on the DST wiki (not an uncommon pastime for me) and encountered the record and gramophone items which led me, a lover of random slice of life lore of these nerds, to wonder;

What music do these characters like?

So I flipped through the 4 records and each characters quote for them; taking note of who had positive or negative feelings about each (as well as little details I liked) so heres what I found.

Wigfrid is a sweetie, saying that she wants to keep the classic record (Ragtime) away so 'her ally' (Maxwell) doesn't have to hear it again. Willow on the other hand is a little shit

Maxwell and Wilson are both traumatized by Ragtime but Maxwell appears to have taken it much harder (which does make sense, he dealt with it longer)

Multiple of the characters have been haunted by Ragtime in some way, though they're not all sure when they heard it

Wurt is very picky and decisive about her music tastes, whereas Wanda has a very 'Kids these days' attitude about it and WX-78 doesn't like any songs.

The spider half of Webber's favorite song is 'Creepy Forest' but Webber as a whole also likes D.R style.

Wilson is fascinated by 'modern' record tech

Maxwell just doesn't like any music at this point

Wortox says he heard D.R Style (which is only used in some trailers) 'in a dream'. I don't know what this means but it feels notable, especially because he's the only one who mentions any familiarity with it.

Doing a Doctor Who Au I've been playing around with for a while; some of the Companions have switched places with their Doctors, and vice versa! Featuring Susan as One, Jamie as Two, and Jo as Three! Art of the Doctors-as-Companions will be posted when I finish it!

Re: my Doctorswap AU tweet, the basic gist of it is as stated: some of the companions take the place of the doctors, and some of the doctors take the place of the companions/side characters. (I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the Brigadier+the Master)  

The criteria for the companions who take the place of the Doctors are that each Doctor gets swapped for the companion that's remembered the most/longest running with that Doctor, but more importantly which ones I like most because this is my AU and I make the rules. So, like, Sarah Jane Smith will swap with Four and Rose will swap with Nine because those two are long-running and also iconic. Bill will be swapped for Twelve because I like her and her episodes a lot and also she got done dirty. 

Ten will probably get to be John Smith if anyone's wondering. One and Two have names (Mr. James Foreman and Prof. Juan van Wer if you're wondering) but I'm still trying to figure out who Three is. 

The original conception of this AU had Three taking the Brig's place, the Brig taking the Master's place, and the Master taking Jo's place. And of course Doctor!Jo. This current AU has blossomed out of that, with minor changes; I assigned everyone's roles randomly.

Please tell me that Death stranding is the kind of game that gives you explanations on everything? I just got introduced to how BB's are made and Still mothers and It's killing me not to turn around and immediately google what all this stuff is lol

fwiw: it’s intentionally vague, especially in comparison to the Metal Gear games (where characters will frequently go on 20+ minute minimum exposition dumps in cutscenes and over codec). You’re supposed to be confused for the opening chunk of the game. It’s not wrong to feel like Sam’s being yanked around on a leash and not told where to go.

Most stuff is explained in more detail, and some stuff is explained more via flashback/context clues/etc. It does get less confusing, I promise!

You might find this link helpful. It’s a spoiler-free list of all the important terms (+ basic definitions) in the game, including stuff like Still Mother, Bridge Baby, that phobia Sam has that I’m not even going to attempt to spell, etc.

Has anyone noticed the similarities between the new Don't Starve DLC update and Bloodborne. Like I haven't played Bloodborne but the focus on the moon and there being something thing elderich and ancient about it is starting to ring familiar.

I'm pretty new to Don't Starve so I'm not sure how long glimmer has been ingame but it bears a striking resemblance to Rom, the Vacuous Spider

The design is uncanny. Glommer only appears during a full moon, descending from the sky, and leaves the same way. Rom can be found in a location called the Moon Side Lake, a vast endless lake that reflects the visage of a full moon. In DS glommer serves no real purpose besides restoring sanity at very close proximity. This as important as the player wants it to be.

Rom, from the lore, hid the blood moon from the people of Yahar’gul. It was always there, just no one could percieve it. The lore and inspiration for her states that she is a reference to a spider in a dreamcatcher that catches nightmares. I wonder is that's what glommer does to restore the player's sanity, catching their waking 'nightmares'
