↳ TRAITS OF THE PARENT
Insouciant. Nonchalant. Unconcerned. Easy-going. Words that could all be used to describe the father as well as the son. Bothering oneself over trivial issues or other futile subjects seems like a waste to the Narghile’s which all enjoy the sweet pleasures of life and hedonism, lazing around with no great goal and considering it the best way to live their short life on this earth. An uncanny curiosity and tendency to speak mostly in questions as well as a short temper when an upsetting subject is brought forwards is also a trait shared between the father and son, both neutral yet volunteer outcasts.
↳ TRAITS OF THE HEART
Elijah, well, he took curiosity and hedonism to the next level. While the Caterpillar engaged in it as a way to kill time and perhaps aggravate for the sake of entertainment those who got lost deep enough in the Enchanted Forest to run into him, for Elijah it was a near obsession. People were fascinating, he wanted to know how they worked, to get how they thought. Of course teasing was always a plus, but he wanted to ‘get’ how their thoughts worked. Or maybe just possess them simply, as his interest in collecting conquests was as imposing as his weed stash.
↳ ‘ TELL EVERYBODY I’M ON MY WAY— ’
Elijah dragged his feet as he always did, always finding the fact that he ended up with only two feet cumbersome, as he made his way towards the school sports complex, his mind in it’s usual haze, his skin sensitive to the soft wind that ruffled his bright orange “do-you-notice-me” hair.
He wasn’t going there to do sports though. God no. How tiring, it was literally too much energy, especially for something as stupid as chasing after a ball. Sure he didn’t give off the appearance of someone who cared about sports, let alone school, but he kind of did. Why else would he still be here at 25. Philosophy and psychology, that was his shit. Well that and it was an excuse to just laze all day, board and food paid and avoid all actual work and intensity of the outside world.
Also, the female population of this school was very much his thing; he thought, as he entered the swimming pool and sat on one of the benches and looked at the current swimming practice.
They really should consider making the swimsuit this schools uniform instead of the damn blouses that make the upperclass women look like elementary school kids
His eyes scanned the crowd -and their bodies- before finally founding what he was searching for. He had first laid eyes on her during Abnormal Psychology class and learning that she was a member of the swim club made him feel like God answered his prayers as well as most of his wet dreams.
He watched as she put her goggles back on, bent over to grab the front of the diving platform (Thank you God once more) as she launched herself through the air and into the water. Elijah waited as she concluded her laps and exited the pool, shaking her hair out of her swim cap and beginning to walk towards the women’s changing room before standing up and blocking her path.
He ruffled his hair and wore his “killer smile” (self-titled) as he walked up to her. Damn, he loved this school, it was his playing ground, and as he got older it just got better. His natural good looks and charm mixed with the appeal of the upperclassman noticing the younger student, a blooming flower among the crowd. That was what girls loved, he was sure of it.
“Nice backstroke” he said. Nice backside too. “This oppa was wondering if you are free Friday. Say about 8PM. For a small stroll around the city, we could maybe chat about philosophy” he spoke, not letting her get any word in. He knew the answer would be yes after all, why waste time and beat around the push. “Here, let me get your number” Elijah said as he dug out his phone. The girl seemed flabbergasted at his appearance. Ah she must be definitely young, and taken aback by his cool aura.
“Please tell me you’re eighteen” (God, don’t play games with my heart)
